Ever since there have been wi-fi Kindles, they have all worked with my Airport Extreme. That would be the Kindle Keyboard, basic Kindle, Touch and Paperwhite. Are you sure you are entering your password correctly?

My base station password is one I made up myself with letters and 2 numbers. The wi-fi network password has 5 letters and 3 numbers, also devised by me.

I also have an Extreme and have never had a problem. I had the KK (before someone sat on it). I am waiting for the PW now. If I have an issue, I will post.

I have an Airport Express and I had no trouble registering and getting wifi internet with my $79 Kindle. I am now trying out my second PaperWhite and I cannot connect with internet with either one. It is probably going back to Amazon.

I'm trying to help a friend who can't connect the KK to her Airport. Since she lives 1500 miles away, it is a problem...
But I think HER problem is that she forgot her password. Is there a simple way that I can explain to her on how to reset the system? Thanks for any help you can give...

I have an Airport Express. I joined this discussion because there wasn't one that addressed problems with the Express.

I can connect my Kindle Fire and all my other devices to my Airport Extreme, but not the Kindle Paperwhite. Last month I got the wi-fi model and it took a lot of tries to get it to connect, and then it would not stay connected. It always saw my wireless network, but would not accept the passphrase (and I knew that I was typing it in correctly). I sent it back and ordered the 3G model. The new one arrived today, and the 3G works great but still could not connect it wirelessly. After searching Kindle discussions & also Apple discussions, I found that many others are having the same problem.

My solution: I set up a Guest network thru my Airport Extreme and now the Paperwhite connects to the Internet w/o a problem. Maybe this will help some of you--I saw it suggested but can't remember if it was a Kindle discussion on Amazon or an Apple discussion. In any event, looks like my issue is resolved.

I had same problem but resolved. Try static IP setting instead of DHCP.

I had exact problem. Make sure AirPort Extreme is using WPA/WPA2 Personal as security protocol. I had just WPA2 Personal setup and it caused these intermittent connectivity issues with my Kindle Fire 1st Gen.

I am using WPA2 on an Airport Extreme with no problems with any of the current Kindles-basic, Touch, Paperwhite and Fire.

I also have this problem with Paperwhite(But not Kindle Keyboard).
For it was solved by switching Airport Extreme to "802.11a/n-802.11b/g"(it was b/g/n

Jason & Sasha Gregory solved the problem I had connecting Kindle Fire1st Gen. to AirPort Extreme. So simple. Two hours on the phone to Amazon customer support was no help!

I will second that Jason& Sasha Gregory fixed the problem on my Kindle Fire 1st Gen and AirPort Extreme.

I had problems too. What finally worked was forgetting the network, restarting kindle, and then connecting to the network again. I did the WPA/WPA2 thing too, but it didn't help. At least, it didn't help before restarting.

This worked for me as well - I setup a Guest network and then opened the Kindle and it was connected to my network. Kinda strange. Did not have to enter in my password again. Just worked. ha!
