Mary McManus says:
Go to Manage your Kindle on the computer and to the right of the book title there is a drop-down box call Actions. Click on that and one option is to return the book. If you are using the Overdrive app on your Fire to read library books, there is an option within the app to return it. I don't have any checked out that way at the moment so can't try it, but I think if you press and hold on the book cover, one of the choices is to return.

E. Jeanette,

I can't believe you would come here and openly accuse me of removing the option of deleting books from your library. I did not remove it from your library, or mine either for that matter.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention. . .

It's still there - use the drop down to change your view to loans and it will show your loans - then click on the book and select an action. It's simple ;) I just returned two books to mt library tonight.

My Kindle (fire) no longer has that drop down menu. It has a picture of the cover of each boo and a drop down menu that shows that it is borrowed but the only thing I can click on is the title which takes me to the purchase page.
There is a line that says "select below for actions but none of the actions are active! Thank you so much for trying to help me!!!!

If you have hard reset your Fire, then maybe it is time for you to contact Kindle Support.

Click on help at the top or bottom of any amazon page and then the Contact Us button on the right of the next page. Answer the questions and the correct contact info is shown. I suggest using the phone for quickest response.

I have the same issue on my Kindle Fire--dropdowns do not work so I can only return library books from a PC. Awkward that an Amazon product doesn't let an Amazon site work what am I missing? There must be some way to access the dropdowns on Fire!

You should be able to access you Amazon account through your browser on your Fire and return the book that way--you don't need to go to a PC.

M. Patterson says:
"Should", yes, of course it "should". That's MaryHS' issue, and mine as well. Neither browser (Silk or Dolphin) on my 1st gen Fire has rendered functioning drop-downs anywhere on the MYC&D page since it replaced MYK. The page is fine on every other device and four or five different browsers on those other devices. It's absurd that an Amazon device cannot handle an Amazon web page intended to "Manage" that device, but I gave up on it long ago and use something else if I want to do anything more than look at a list of "Books" (that drop-down doesn't work, either).
