Hi All,

I do know how to remove things from the cloud IE doing all of the stuff on the amazon website and deleting them from there and then syncing your device. I have done this and it has been weeks but i cannot get some of the icons to go (one of them has a red exclamation mark on it) they just want leave. I find it odd that some seemingly go and others just stay there and i don't understand what the problem is with these 'stragglers'

I have no problems with deleting books they all go fine, but for some reason these app icons cause me bother even though it is all deleted from my device and from amazon's site they just remain within my cloud section. Has there been an update that has made something go only started doing this a little while ago i have never had a problem like this before.

Is there anything to fix this? I dont want to reset to factory defaults because i have a lot of other things on this which will be a n awful hassle to get put back on along with the settings etc that goes along with how i have set my kindle up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

JessieJ - To delete apps permanently on a Fire HD you can do the following in the future. It sounds like you've already deleted them from Manage Your Kindle. Try pressing on the ones in the Cloud on your device and see if you get the option to Delete from Cloud. Again, I'm not sure if you'll get the option since you've already deleted them from your account.

*Press on the icon and select Remove from Device.
*On the Cloud tab, long press on the app and select Delete from Cloud.
*A confirmation box will appear. Click on Delete from Cloud.
*It will "think" for a minute and then will remove it.

You have to actually uninstall them from the device.

Deletion from the device i always do first then go through the procedure to delete it from the cloud.

When i do the last instructions that you have given, it freezes my screen up and i have to press the home button in order to get anything else done. I don't understand why this is happening. When i go back there the icon is still there. I really hope that i do not have to reset my kindle as that will be a major nuisance.

It was just a thought. Since you've already deleted them from your account it probably won't work, but I thought it was worth trying.

Try resetting your Apps.

On your Home page:
* Settings (swipe down from the top of the screen to access)
* More > Applications > Installed Applications
* Scroll down to "Appstore"
* "Clear Data"

Now wait a minute while the Fire finds its apps again (no need to be online). All apps will reappear. None of your apps will be lost doing this.

When it's done finding the apps, shut down & restart the Fire. Then go online and sync it. Then scroll through the app shelves and let it find all of the icons for display.

Have tried this also, and unfortunately it is the same. Why won't these icons just go......there is no reason for them to be there, i don't understand it. I would have thought the Sync option would have made the device realise by now these apps have been deleted a while ago. Is this a bug with the Kindle's software or something? It seems i am not the only one with this sort of problem.

Not that it will help, but what are the apps?

Some game demo's from the amazon appstore like matchblock and magic academy, they were apps (if i remember rightly) that were from the app of the day section which i just downloaded to try.

JessieJ - Have you tried deregistering it and registering it again? If you deregister from the website (not from the device), sync and register it again you won't lose any sideloaded items and it just might free up those icons. You'll have to download everything again and will lose game progress, though.

Or you could contact customer support and see if they have any words of wisdom.
