On, search for a book you want to review. Scroll down to the "Customer Review" section. Immediately to the right you'll see a button that says "Create your own review." Click on that and write your own review. This actually works on any book, not just ones you've already purchased. I just checked and don't see a way to do that directly from the Kindle Fire.

What dumb developer decided not to put a review button on the kindle? Do you really think people are going to bother logging onto a computer to review a book they read on their kindle? Get your act together Amazon...More reviews means more purchases and bigger profits for you. Can we get a kindle fire update with a review option built in?

@Matthew: Thank you for your polite feedback. If you want to be certain that someone from Amazon hears your feedback, please send an email to - we are mainly Kindle owners here, not from Amazon.

I have been trying (NO SUCCESS)to leave a review for a book I got downloaded to my Kindle for PC. I have tried multiple times by clicking the create your own review and I get sent to a page that says this: Want to write a customer review?

To submit a customer review: you need to use an Amazon account that has successfully been charged for the purchase of a physical or digital item. Free digital downloads don't qualify. You don't need to have purchased the product you're reviewing. There's a 48-hour waiting period after your first physical order has been completely shipped, or your digital item has been purchased, before you'll be able to submit your review. Learn more about writing customer reviews.

If your purchase was completed more than 48 hours ago, let us know here.

If you have another account and you have already used it to make a purchase, you can sign into that account to write a review.

Was the book you are trying to review a freebie? And have you actually paid for anything using that account? - if not buy a $0.99 book and that will "open" your account for reviewing. I guess Amazon has this restriction to stop non-customers leaving reviews. If they didn't have some restriction like that people could set up multiple accounts under false names to post multiple good or bad reviews for a book.

It was a freebie. I will try your suggestion. Thank you.

There's a number people who do that already! (post multiple times under fake names!)

Not totally, but it does make it a bit harder for someone to do on the fly. I guess Amazon don't/can't cross-check credit card numbers so people can still setup multiple accounts, it just means they have to buy something on each account before they can use it for a review.

Some books will let you review them at the last page. Others( the ones I didn't like) won't allow feedback!

Mary, if you buy a book through Amazon there is always the option on the book product page for you to leave a review.

I have to agree. It's a bit insane that at the end of a book, we don't get a summary page where we can easily add a rating, add a review, and at least get links to any relevant sequels or other works by the author. Its a long trip to finish a book, and then while you're still in the grip of that post-finale emotion, have to find your way to the amazon site via another application or platform and start digging around for these obvious next steps. What a ridiculously wasted opportunity while a reader is feeling motivated and essentially has their wallet out.

I agree with you ^^, just bought my boyfriend a Kindle Fire and he's purchased and read two books and has tried to write a review but he doesn't have that option. His Kindle is set up like mine, so we are confused as to why there isn't an option at the end of the book to rate and review it. I don't want him to have to go to
to leave the review.. Like what was said above, you're no longer in the emotional
moment, if there isn't an option write the review directly after.

I'm all for screening out fake reviews, or manufactured reviews, and hate the idea of paid reviews. I want nothing to do with any of that, but when Amazon refuse genuine reviews because they think they are, then what can I do? Is it my fault that someone I know really likes the book I've written, and wants to say so?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 18, 2013 4:21:06 AM PDT
If they really liked it, they'd log onto the computer and navigate to

Is the "someone" a relative? Spouse, parent, child? Are they trying to leave a review using the account that uploaded the book?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 18, 2013 4:32:52 AM PDT
I cannot imagine what makes you think that. I am stunned, I tell you. Stunned.

Another zombie thread resurrected from February 2012 and reanimated a few times since then. Honestly folks, the forst post wasn't any good and raising it from the grave doesn't make it better.

The fact that there is no way to leave reviews through any mobile device for a service that is primarily used on mobile devices makes this service pointless for new writers. If I don't already have a massive audience every review I convince readers to leave is a huge addition. But every hoop they have to jump through ruins the experience. I would probably have better luck printing out boorlegs and selling them on the street corner.

I just want to write a review for a book, and I can't do that because there is no review button.

Go to the product page from your browser or on your PC. You can enter a review there.
