I bought the same Kindle for my other half for Christmas and hers plays YouTube videos without a problem! They're the same model! What is going on??!!

Are you getting an error message? Can you go anywhere else on the Web? Have you tried a reboot (hold the power switch for 30 seconds)?

More info would be helpful.

Hi Frank, I'm getting no error message! I push 'play' on the videos and nothing happens! BBC I-player works fine and videos open in Facebook. I've turned it on and off and looked in the settings but nothing has helped!

Mr. Bovis - Are you both trying to watch the exact same YouTube videos? It may be that your wife is watching videos that are using HTML5 and the ones you're trying to watch require Flash.

Adobe stopped supporting Flash on all Android devices (not just the Fire) in August 2012. Amazon can't provide it and you can't download it from Adobe's website.

To install Flash: (You have to have a Flash compatible browser in order to install Flash. You can't install it under Silk.)

Do the following on the Fire / Fire HD itself:

Swipe down from the top > More > Device > Allow Installation of Applications.

*Install ES File Explorer: ES File Explorer

Download and install the Dolphin HD and Flash Player apk files from these links:

*Dolphin HD:

*Flash Player:

Once both files are downloaded to your Fire, open ES File Explorer and look in the "Downloads" folder. You should see both files there.

Install Dolphin HD *first* by tapping on the icon. Then Install Flash by tapping on the icon.

When you launch the Dolphin browser, go into the settings and make sure "User Agent" is set to "Desktop."

To open the Google Drive links from your Fire (this works best if you're using a stylus):
- Press on the first part of the link.
- Two brackets will appear.
- Move the right bracket to the very end of the link. Make sure you get all of it highlighted.
- Then select Copy from the popup box.
- Click on the + in the upper right of web page you're on to open a new tab.
- Tap in the URL field and an option to Paste will appear. Tap that.
- The Google Drive link will open up.
- Tap the file you want to download.

The Experimental Streaming Viewer allows you to view videos on the web using Silk.

Go to the Web tab > Menu > Settings > Accelerated page loading > turn on.

This will turn on two other settings:
- Enable Flash Forward
- Prompt for experimental streaming viewer

Complete information is here, including how to use the viewer:

You need to have the latest software update to use this:

edited to update links and add add'l info.

Mine won't play these either. It freezes up when it says video loading and rejuvenate stopped working as well as Facebook app constantly freezing up

In the URL replace the 'www' with 'm', and that should bring up the mobile version, with which you should be able to watch the video.

Also, make sure the web browser is set to "mobile" or "automatic" view first before trying to access You Tube. You might also need to clear the cache on the web browser.

I tried both links that you gave me to get the Dolphin browser and they were both unavailable. This is ridiculous I paid way too much money for this.
