M. A. Rupert says:
Is there a pre-loaded alarm clock app on the Fire? I had an alarm clock "out of the box" on both my phone and Galaxy Tab and was wondering if I just missed seeing the same on the Fire. Thanks for any info.

You didn't miss anything. But there are apps in the appstore.

Another in a long list of "default" apps everyone pretty much expects to have that are missing on the Fire HD.

@RackOnInNC: If you want to be certain that someone from Amazon hears your feedback, please send an email to kindle-feedback@amazon.com or kindle-fire-feedback@amazon.com if you have a Fire - we are mainly Kindle owners here, not from Amazon.

My non-Amazon tablet does not have an alarm clock either. That does not worry me.

Then you should have considered that before choosing a forked Android OS.

Well, my Fire "alarms" with the first musical stanza of the "Can Can" song every night at precisely 7:00 pm and none of us can find the app that's doing it. My 9-year-old downloads game apps and I haven't downloaded an alarm clock. It's very confusing...and loud!

I've had my Kindle for quite a while but today I heard something playing like between a song and an alarm. I've never heard that before & it was the only mechanical thing I had in my night stand. Weird.
