Does the Kindle Fire HD have a Facetime app so that it will link to people who have Facetime on their IPAD?

JC says:
FaceTime is proprietary Apple technology. The only way to use is it is through a Mac, an iPad or an iPhone.

You can use the Skype app on both devices.

Why do all the net ads say that facetime is available for the Kindle fire HD,
when you try to get it it is a no go ?

Are you mistaking FreeTime for facetime?

If you want to use your Fire for video calls, you will have to use Skype. Facetime is for iDevices only.

Facetime is not only with mac products. I am looking for a way to use it on the Kindle Fire HD since I have previously used it on other products that were not apple.

Facetime is limited to Apple things and only Apple things. You can't get Facetime on Android or Windows. Can't be done. No way.

One more time! There is no Facetime available for any device other then those made by Apple. You cannot do it, period!

Try telling that to my teenage daughter. She laughs at me when I ask about Facetime because she and her friends Skype all the time.

LOL. Neat question. Hopefully it was said with a twinkle of amusement, because if it was a serious question then you obviously don't understand emphasis.

I think that Amazon should make an app that is like face time but their version but we can interact with Apple products aswell

I bet there is some proprietary stuff keeping people from creating such an app that would interface with Apple.

King Al says:
I agree. Amazon would probably have to do some reverse engineering, then Apple would almost certainly sue Amazon.

I am sick of this iPhone and android war. Can't they just make compatible apps? It's about connecting. Not what you can afford.
