When will you issue a Kindle that has a full-size USB port? I will never give up my thumb drives. You would make transfer of photos and documents much easier. Also, when are you going to get Microsoft to adapt Office to Kindle? If you do that, it would make your product the tablet to own and sales would skyrocket.

Oh, love the appeal to students. A kid ought to get a Kindle for high school graduation just for college textbooks. Think of all the trees and backs it would save.

Jennifer - USB port - not going to happen. Amazon wants you to use the Cloud.

Microsoft Office runs on Window and Macs. You need to contact them to tell them to rewrite all of their code to run on Android. Or you could buy one of the many good compatible Office-type apps.

Amazon already has a huge eTextbook store.

Sounds like you'd appreciate what the Surface tablets have to offer.

It's not the size of the USB port that matters (adapters will allow any USB male to connect with any USB female), it's whether the device is able to host other USB devices or not. Kindle USB ports are for file transfer and charging and cannot host.
