Can you read in the sun on Kindle Fire HD 8.9" with 4G as easily as you can on a Kindle reader?

No, you can't. The Fire is backlit, and is not really designed to be read in the sun. No backlit device is.

No. IT's a LCD screen and it has glare. IT's just like a phone or iPad. The Kindle reader has an eINk screen that is like paper and ink when it comes to reading in sunlight.

Amazon has put in a Kindle Fire anti-glare coating but it has very little effect.
