New one on me too. So I'd try the standard fallback of rebooting. If that didn't help, I'd call Kindle CS.

Btw, how many apps do you have onboard already? Any chance you've 'used up' the allotted memory space for apps?

I have a few apps, but haven't downloaded anything since this started. Rebooting didn't help either.

How interesting- I'm having very similar issues. Books and some apps still work, but most apps won't run, with internal service errors. I noticed apps are not installing/reinstalling either. Wifi connection is fine. I think Kindle CS will get a call, when I have time.

My mom is having the same problem with her Kindle Fire too! What is up with this...and she hasn't been able to do anything with her kindle since it started this past Saturday. Anyone get any info on it? Thanks!

I have Angry Birds and Monopoly and have never gotten this message. Do you have enough available storage on your Fire?

I know my mom has tons of space...she just got hers at Christmas. Mine works just fine and I have never seen this message at all.

I had this same problem just starting to happen on my Kindle Fire. I called Kindle CS and they walked me through different things to try and fix it. The only thing that finally fixed it was to deregister your Kindle and re-register it. That fixed all my problems. The tech support person I talked to said that this was the first time he had experienced this problem, but advised me to call Kindle CS if it happens again that way they can let the developers know it is a problem that needs looked into.

Dustin - Someone posted this same issue in the Q&A Customer Service Forum. Customer Service told them for the internal service failure that they needed to reset to factory defaults. go to Settings > More > Device > Reset to Factory Defaults.

You will lose:
*Any personal documents on your device
*Internet bookmarks
*Memorized wi-fi networks
*You will have to register your device again

You will not lose any software updates.

I will let my mom know and I will also tell her to reset to factory defaults. Thanks!

I had similar issue with crashing apps. I also purchased an app that never made it to my Kindle fire. I tried to buy it again, but was getting message saying that "you've already purchase it". I called CS. After deregistering and registering again my kindle, was not able to see my ordered app in "cloud". Amazon refunded my purchased app while I was on the phone with them. Than I went to the Amazon apps store on kindle again, purchased the same app again and it worked this time. This also seem to fix the crashing "internal service failure" messages.

Just got my kindle fire for Christmas! I have 3 books and 2 games, one of which is Angry Birds. In the beginning it worked fine for the 1st week, then the screen froze and I had to Google how to re-boot it, then it worked ok for 1 month, then wouldn't let me open my books, telling me they needed to be downloaded. Amazon had to send me a line to connect to my computer so that I could delete the books and re-download them. This allowed me to finish the 2nd book and read the 3rd book. I can no longer open the 3rd book, it tells me it has to be downloaded. Now when I play Angry birds, it tells me that there is an " internal service failure". I am about ready to throw this thing out the window. MY NOOK may only let me read books, but it works every time, all the time!!! Amazon needs to get with the program!!

i had the same problem, that most apps would not work. 2 or 3 would open, pop up the "internal service failure" message, then continue running. which was weird, but most apps simply quit. i read through here, tried the factory restore. it seemed to fix it. apps that didnt work, started working again. for 15 minutes anyways. i had been playing a game, Contract Killer, and there is an aspect of it that rewards you for daily play, and a friend told me that setting the internal date manually could allow you to collect very quickly. it started the first time when i started doing this. then after i did it again after the factory reset, the internal failure happened again. i set the calendar to automatic, the shut down and restarted my device. it seems ok now. i could be wrong, and i doubt every user that experienced this, was doing the same as me, but the two actions seem to be linked. so i will try NOT messing with the clock and see if it returns to normal. then i will repost.

When you registered it and registered it did you have to pay for everything you had on the kindle.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 8, 2012 2:19:15 PM PDT
no you already own all that stuff just make sure to register it to the same account

Angela - No, any content you purchase from Amazon is owned by your account and not the physical device... so it will always be available for you to download again from the cloud/archives.

Mine started saying internal system failure after I fixed my clock and date manually because it wasn't right, I'm not sure what to do yet but I herd turning it to factory settings helped but if I did that I'm not sure how to get all my stuff back.

This has been happening to me too. I am worried and I need a solution. Any suggestions?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2012 1:36:53 PM PDT
Maria - Based on what other posts in this thread have said, there are 2 things to try.

1) Deregister and reregister.
2) Reset to factory defaults.

I was having the same issue recently when I went to a few of my apps. Now all my apps say that and I cannot connect to Wi-Fi.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I was getting the internet service failure notice for most of my apps. My son had been changing the date to get something he needed on an app. I changed the date to automatice and that issue seems to be resolved.

Yes, an incorrect date seems to mess up many apps.
