Just wondering what the screensaver is on the paper white if I opt out of ads. I have a very old kindle keyboard that has great pics of famous authors and such and was wondering if it's the same.

No, it's not the same. However, the screesavers are nice pictures of old pens, typewriter keys, etc.

I love the screensavers on the paperwhite. they are much better than the old dead authors.

A couple of 'em...Emily and whoever-it-is who moved his hand during the exposure (every time it appears, all I see are the extra fingers)...are truly creepy.

I hadn't noticed that.
Now I'll be looking.

I, on the other hand, like the ad screensavers. I find some good deals there and none of them bother me. For the cost savings, I always buy the "special offers" versions.

I'm with you. I've saved quite a bit on the S/Os, and even more on the LTOs on the Fire.
