many apologies for basic start, I just have nothing, maybe it will come to me during the day.
Hoping all enjoyed the week and have a great weekend planned.
I will try my best and hope to at least be in and out today.

KayKay. Sorry that RL is throwing you curve balls right now.. I do hope that nobody is sick...
And that things straighten up real fast.. Sometimes, things just happen... If you need anything send me an e-mail..

Thank you for the start, Kay Kay. Hopefully if you have a moment you can at least read some of the posts for the day and take a few minutes for yourself.

Thanks for the start KaKay. It doesn't have to be anything special, just a start. Hope everything is ok.

Biscay says:
Big thank you from me too, KayKay. Any start is special, and yours today has done the job just fine! And then it's up to the rest of us to visit, make the effort to post, and hopefully also bring in some interesting things over the next 24 hours or so. Maybe even a free book or two - you never know!

Hope all are ok today, and enjoying either a verrrrry long weekend, or a moderately long one (red...??) or just getting to have a weekend for those remaining :)

Biscay x

Well you really are the clever one finding Sally over on Shelfari - no matter how I search I can't find her:-) (but see you are following someone who became a member on October 19, 2013 ;-)

@ Sally did you become a member yet ???

@ Dillydally - Wow I am impressed with what you have accomplished already over there, you must be an absolute pc whiz to get all those books tagged already - fantastic - well done and you got your head around the privacy bit too - I couldn't leave you a message to say welcome.

@ Elle - Impressed with your shelf too - I have to say that it took me quite some while to work out how to do everything and you seem to have it off pat - well done - now looking forward to you adding a pic to your profile :-)

I look forward to everyone joining our group over there - though not many of us seem to post there any more - but there is lots of helpful stuff posted there already to help folk find their way around - and find lots of other FB&C users too - many of us have the same profile name/pic on both sites

@ Robb
Yes so far the start of my day is going OK - going out for an early family lunch today.
But .... the end of my Friday was not good at all, DS had his flat broken into - he had been at work then out to the cinema and then came to visit me for a chat, then he left and rang my bell again nearly immediately and said I had to come NOW.
He lives on the ground floor (street level) a little top window had been forced open and two of his expensive specialized bikes are gone together with watches, designer sunglasses, laptop, digital camera and cash - they had totally trashed his flat, I mean Totally - had even torn open the box of a childrens board game to see if he had "hidden" anything in there, and upended his bed and removed all the bed linnen, drawers and cupboards had their contents strewn all over the place.

He is devastated about his bikes, he just made the last payment on one of them - he will get thrown out of his insurance company but I hope that they pay up first. The police were very helpful an arrived within 10 mins of his call.
We are still very shaken :-(

I can assure you, redandwhite, that I have only just *begun* to do the tagging! I did do a quick run through them all to mark some books I know I have read, but others are still pending, and I've marked them "to read" because I can't remember enough about them to rate them, or even tag them.

Sorry about the message thing. I'll change that so you can contact me over there. :)

@ Sally
I have had a reply from eReaderIQ
I do have South African users. The same cross-border restrictions and
limitations apply to them as Canadian users, however they seem even more

I have been unable to retrieve cross-border data for almost a year but, from
what I can remember when I was able to, prices tend to be a bit more
expensive and availability a bit more limited for SA users. This is not
always the case, but something to be ready for.

The reference to the Canadian users is in face ref to Donna - she and I wrote to him when she was having problems when ammy clamped down and changed some of their rules making these sites pay a fee for leading us to free books, long story, but Donna can inform about her present thoughts on the site (I think overall she is pleased using it)

@ Biscay
Don't be afraid of 'giving' your ammy list to eReaderIQ - I haven't imported mine - just get them to track particular books/authors, adding them one at a time. - Getting an email for price drops or a book becoming free is so much better than searching through ammys wish list - that way I don't get to miss any of the ones I really really want (and when clicking the links eReaderIQ sends me always check the actual price before 1-clicking - in most cases the books are free for me too - for items where they might cost 99cents for US folk there is always an extra $3-4 price difference for Europeans anyway - which is normal fare for us)

Thanks Red - It seemed very straight forward to me. I uploaded a pic. It's one of my two local grands.

Well folks - it's way past my usual bed time and I'm heading off to bed before I fall asleep at my keyboard.
Goodnight FB&C friends I hope you have a wonderful night/day - depending on your location. :)

@ Dillydally
Be careful with the tags always type them the absolute same way, example western if next time you type westerns then you will have two tags instead of 1.
Another little hint about tagging
Try to go to your shelf and on the shelf dropdown click on "list view" and check out all the filter options and note after filtering that sorting can be done by clicking the the column headers - check it out - I am not very good at explaining it in words here
Please don't change your privacy settings for me - you need to set them to suit your own privacy needs - good that one can iMHO
ETA again
What a beautiful cat - very regal - you should add it and your about me stuff to your profile here too ;-)

Red, I know how horrible that is.. more than once...
One time my purse was stolen with mom walmart credit card in it.. It took walmart
almost 2 years to get her account right...
I hope the insurance pays and quickly.. At least he wasn't home and injured..
(that's me trying to look at the bright side)LOL

It is also extra sad for him since he had come up to chat with me since he is applying for a new job today and was really excited and on a high - we have to cross our fingers that he gets the job - he is going to talk to them now.
He lives and breathes bikes and builds them himself from parts bought at great expense often with very specialized bits, he told the police that the one bike had attachments that only a handful of people have in DK.
Strangely enough they didn't take his Mastercard - though we know they had seen it laid out on his coffee table with his Ikea card - go figure

Dillydally says:
Thanks for the heads-up on the tags. Some I have put 2x, once as a singular, and again as a plural, because I can never remember what I have put when I want to do a search. That's what aging does to you... :P

I've managed to find my way around most of Shelfari--so far, but no doubt I will run into trouble sooner or later and have to scream for help.

I do like that you can download a list of your books, and have it open in MS Excel. I'll d/l the list again, when I have most or all of my tags in place.

It is not just the money, though that is of course important, but he can never get "that" bike back again, it also has other consequences for him, he races and now he has no bike to train and race with, his other bikes, that they didn't steal, are not good enough to race on so it affects his ability to partake in any club activities or keep himself properly in shape/train.
The police say that he should check out the internet to see when his things come up for sale (he and they say he will be able to identify things) - but now he has no computer to do that from either :-(
My heart bleeds for him

Morning all,

Finally weekend for me and no hockey, so I can enjoy myself, relax and read my PW (and maybe I will do some work...).

I will try all your tips on my WL, but it's sometimes frustrating that the price you see at first doesn't apply to me.

@Red I'm sorry to hear about your DS. Why can people not keep their fingers to them self. Also the hassle afterwards.
My shed was broken into 2 months ago, but my bike was locked so they didn't take it. But they took the neighbors bike. It's not a very comfortable thought you have to lock things in your own home.

I hope everyone will have a great weekend, take care and stay safe

Glad to hear that you are going to be able to have some "me" time - your soul will appreciate it I am sure.
Have you checked out eReaderIQ - I wrote a lot about it and its advantages on the Friday thread - their pricing is usually more correct than the ammy wishlist pricing/sorting which I agree is just soooo frustrating for us foreigners.
I had my everyday bike stolen on christmas eve one year - but DS got me a good deal on a new one so there was only the frustration of not having one for a few days - the robbers left one with a bent front wheel and a broken chain outside the front door - but I didn't think it a worthy replacement LOL
Enjoy your weekend

Losing Faith by Jeremy Asher (Contemporary Fiction/Romance)
Publication Date: March 11, 2013
Seth Storm, a once famous musician from Nashville, is now nothing more than a fallen star. After climbing the music charts and making his dreams come true, his life took a turn that he'd never expected, causing him to lose it all. Now Seth is determined to do whatever it takes to turn his life around, even if that includes doing the one thing he swore he'd never do. After giving up music and the career he spent much of his life building, Seth embarks on a journey to get back what he cherishes the most: his daughter, Faith.

Trista Tilman, a single mother, finds shelter on the road as she and her daughter try to escape her abusive fiancé, Randall Tuck. As Trista struggles to repair her damaged relationship with her daughter, Tuck begins to close in on them.

Along the way, Seth and Trista encounter a storm that threatens their one chance at getting their lives back. Forced to travel together, they discover that success lies not just at the hands of fate but also within each other, two unlikely travelers fighting to survive not only the storm but also the demons of their past.

As the road takes them deeper and deeper into the storm, Seth and Trista find themselves face-to-face with their worst fears. Can love help them pick up the broken pieces of their lives?
