Kindle Fire - Set home page?

I don't think the Kindle Fire can do this, but I'll ask anyway.

In the Silk browser, how do you set the home page to a page of your choice? Also, is there a way to stop it from opening the last page used, and instead have it open to your home page or the 'bookmark' page?

The easiest way that is sort of like this is to go to that page on the Silk browser, then go to the Carousel and you'll see it there. Press and hold and then add it to your favorites. Next time you want to go there, just select it from your favorites underneath the carousel.

@Trevor Pease and @steweygatz:

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I seem to be having the same problem.

edit... for anyone else who gets the same issue - I had a url stuck in the address bar, that would not go away. After an hour+ on the phone with one customer service rep - they finally sent me to a "specialist" who (within the first minute) told me to press the power button for 20 seconds or so, which I did, and then when I turned it back on, everything was all peachy again. Apparently the above procedure fixes "intermittent issues" with the Kindle Fire. Anyhoo... all seems to be fixed.

No resolution, but the pic finally went away....haven't seen it in weeks. There was an automatic update so not sure if that helped...

Have you tried clearing the browser history? Also, if all else fails, try holding the power button down for 20 or so seconds, which will reboot the system. It's what finally worked when I was having a similar issue.

I have a new Fire HD, while in Silk,instead of choosing "Settings" from the menu button at bottom, I choose "Starter Page" , and Silk now opens to that page each new window etc

Brilliant! THANK YOU!! For everyone who hasn't figured it out, there are two kinds of settings. The first is the one most of us find right away. It is the Kindle settings found from the main menu. The second you get to while you are in Silk. You go to the bottom of the page and press the menu icon (it looks like a rectangle with lines across it left to right). For me, this menu was the answer to nearly every question I had!

Could I use a Grid view rather than using the Carousel for my Home Page?

My Kindle Fire is approx 2 1/2 yrs old and it seems the internal battery is dead. I took it to Batteries Plus but they could not purchase the battery and suggested I contact you as to what to do. They also said I should have a professional to do it as it is very difficult to do and also the glass breaks easily when taken apart. Any help appreciated.
