Is it possible to have two Kindles ( different types) on the same Amazon Account.

Wondering says:
Yes. The main drawback to that arrangement is a lack of privacy if there are more than one person using the Kindles since there is no hiding material from one of the devices - all the Kindles registered to the account can see and access all of the material associated with it. But yes, there can be more than one Kindle registered to an account.

One of the main advantages that Kindles have (IMHO) over paperbooks is having multiple Kindle's on the same account. All of the books on the account are avaialabe to all of the devices. In addition, you can have different people reading the same book(s) at the same time in different places, or you can read the same book(s) on different devices and always pick up where you last left off on any one of the devices. It all just depends on your wants and needs.

Different people on the same account reading the same books at the same time - one of the best things that ever happened for our household. :-)

(three kindles, 2 smart phones, & cloud reader)

Yep, I'm the same (though I did recently set up my sis with her Mac app on my account because she wanted to read a particular book). So my account has 2 Keyboards, 2 PCs, smartphone and Mac, 5 of which are mine.

I did offer to set my dad up on it too, but when I pointed out his taste in erotica is probably different to mine he decided to create his own account :-)

Is it possible to have my Kindle Fire and a Paperwhite on the same account but keep the book libraries separate. The Fire is mine and the Paperwhite is my daughter's reader. I obviously don't want her to have access to my books.

Grimwinder says:
You should be able to set up parental controls to block her access to the Cloud, she'll then only see the books you download for her. However, I believe that if the Kindles are on the same account there's no way to "separate" libraries, the library belongs to the account, not the Kindles.
