My kindle keeps restarting and will not bring up anything but ads.

I don't know what is wrong with my kindle. I have had my kindle for about two months and loved it until now. After I push the on button the enter passcode screen pops up then turns off and goes back to a different ad. Sometimes the ad just changes without the passcode screen showing. I have charged it fully and this still did not change it's status. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or can I still send it back?

First try a hard restart. Press and hold the power button in for a full 20-30 seconds, then release and wait for it to reboot. If that doesn't resolve things, contact Kindle CS for more help. Click the "Help" link at the top or bottom of any Amazon page, then press the "Contact Us" button.

I have to do this several times--rebooting--to get back to the book, and then it will go back to a page I was on the day before. And it does the rebooting on its own fairly often. Exasperating.

You are kidding right? Prices of Kindles have dropped over the years. Go with a different brand then. Get a Nook but just remember they are almost out of business. You can get a Sony but of course your books from Amazon will not work on it.

Which Kindle do you have and do you have it in a Amzon cover with hooks?

All of you with problems need to contact Kindle customer service, not post on the Kindle forum.

http://www.amazon.com/kindlesupport, then click on the yellow Contact Us button on the right side of that page.

We have five Kindle Keyboards in my family that are over two years old. None of them have had any problems. When a user has multiple problems with their Kindle my first thought is user error.

Since you seem to be having so many problems you might consider getting the extended warranty. I don't work for anyone. I just have a Kindle Keyboard that is almost 2 1/2 years old and a Basic Kindle that is a year old. I have used both of them daily and they are both still working like new. I might also mention that the Basic Kindle I have is a refurbished unit. Refurbished means they have gone through and fixed any problems with them by the way.

What I mean was speak to customer service instead of whining on a Kindle customer board. What good is that going to do you? Or do you just like to whine and act like a poor victim? You certainly are an azz.

Okay, I'm leaving. I'm 75 and people are so rude these days. You can't post a question without people criticizing you and remarking on who they think you are. It's enough to make you cry. I guess I'm not cut out for these times. Nothing here was helpful at all, just criticism and useless comments.

You included, it seems. No one was rude until you were.

People did try to help, by suggesting customer service. Some issues can't be resolved by other customers.

What question were you posting? It read to me like just another rant (or, as you might say, "criticism and useless comments").

She deleted all her posts so she could pretent that she hadn't been rude and snotty (in posts to 3 different people, no less) and then whined about how rude everyone else is on this forum.
