I see where you can transfer books via a usb cable but do not see where you can transfer apps. I am having issue with my wireless at home and want to add some games to my son's kindle fire via usb. Is this possible? TIA!

Ernie says:
If you have a file on your PC you can send it to the Fire.
Whether it runs is another story.

I have apps that I have bought in the kindle store and want them on the kindle. Would think you could transfer it? Might out to work on getting the wifi to work instead! lol

Ernie says:
If you bought it from Amazon on the Fire Apps page, it is in your cloud storage and can be synced to the Fire from any wifi connection to the net.
No need to transfer to PC and then sideload to Fire.
Anything else can be sideloaded using a file manager like ES File Manager.

Moving files from a PC to the Fire is dragging and dropping. Nothing complicated.

E. Simmons,

Here is one place that describes how to move the apps over via USB-> http://www.ubergizmo.com/2011/11/kindle-fire-sideload/
