Ok... I just got my Kindle Fire HD last night and I need to know a few things. 1) Do you have to leave it on while charging? 2) Is it better to put the Kindle to sleep or turn it off? 3) Is it ok that I am using the cord that came with it but I am using the USB wall plug thing from my phone charger? 4) What is the average time it takes to charge using USB? Thank You!

1) No.
2) If you plan to use it daily, put it to sleep. Turn wi fi off first.
3) Yes, but it may take longer to charge than with the Amazon Powerfast charger (which is the charger recommended for the HD)
4) 13 hours when plugged into a USB port on a computer.

Can I use my older Kindle 3 charger to charge my new Kindle Fire HD?

H. Newman -- You didn't specify which Kindle you had. So,to turn on your Kindle, slide the power button or push the power button. It is always located on the edge of you Kindle.
