1. Accepting Life's Challenges

"The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough. They're there to stop the other people."
-Randy Pausch

2. Working Hard

"There are no shortcuts to any place worth going." -Beverly Sills

3. Choosing Wisely

"It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." -J.K. Rowling

4. Growing from Problems

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger." -Friedrich Nietzsche

5. Laughing it Off

"Sometimes crying or laughing are the only options left, and laughing feels better right now." -Veronica Roth

6. Staying True to Yourself

"I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself." -Rita Mae Brown

7. Fighting for Your Dreams

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." -Eleanor Roosevelt

8. Deciding to Change

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

9. Being Present

"It's being here now that's important. There's no past and there's no future. Time is a very misleading thing.
All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can't relive it;
and we can hope for the future, but we don't know if there is one." -George Harrison

10. Being Thankful

"Keep your face always toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you." -Walt Whitman

@ GrammaKathy - So sorry to hear about your eye problems, I do hope that the doctors can help you, and soon.
Glad that you got to see your daughter and grandkids, we do so understand how special that must have been for you.
We miss you when you can't post. Come back when you can and keep us updated.

Thanks again for another great start KayKay. Picked up David, dragged him to the mall to see a dress that wasn't there and they cannot find in their online catalog, then to his parents house. Made them dinner, then hung out and left him at his sisters house. He is staying there, then leaving tomorrow for an out of town trip with some guys. Will be back Sunday, then I'll stay with him until he leaves on the 24th. Whooo what a day. Very tired!

I did find a dress I loved. Size 12, fits everywhere well, but just wayyyyy too tight in the bust. Cannot find a size 14 to see if it will work (the trip to the mall was the last place I know of that has the store - I HATE THE MALL!) So search continues. Boo.

I'll return in the morning :)

Copy/paste of my posts at the end of yesterdays thread:

Charlie-bird says (to Suze):
Yum! They mix well, I think. I can't wait to try it out. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Charlie-bird says (to KayKay)
Feel better KayKay!

Charlie-bird says (to Nospin)
I'm sorry I missed you dropping in tonight Noreen. I think of you often and when I "see" you around occasionally, I want to say hi, but don't want to bother, or pressure you about popping in more when you aren't doing well. I am sorry about your son and your health. You are far from unfit, but I (we) understand. Big hugs!!!

Charlie, Have you tried looking for a dress at a thrift store? I get some really nice clothes there..
Lots of times people buy a dress for a special occasion and then donate then.. Would be worth a try..
You can save lots of money too..

Gee, it seems kinda late to be going to work.. but then Lyn is probably used to it..
My sure your family is grateful for you help and support..

Hi redandwhite.... I feel fairly positive about today's appt. and I like the doctor. Nothing's happened yet and so I am just trying to keep this all in perspective. The doctor very clearly warned me that while this was an option to try there is no guarantee that it will work, but she felt that it was definitely worth trying and wondered why it hadn't been done a long time ago.

We are not replacing my car. I can't drive and haven't been allowed to for quite a while now. There's no point in replacing a car for me at this point. Rick has his car and that will be fine for us. However Jonathan now will have to buy a car. He is looking for one now that he can afford.

How wonderful that you are going to be able to retire within the year. Sounds like a good plan and more time to spend with the grandsons. ❤

Good day everyone :) KayKay, sorry for your nausea and thanks for the motivational quotes. We need someone to whisper those words in our ears from time to time...

I found this interesting initiative and a great visibility opportunity for Indie writers. The Guardian is asking readers to nominate the good ones they've found.

It's a sale Sandy. The IT people need to be there around the clock to make sure there are no problems when it comes to being able to take the customers money :) She has the midnight to 8 or whenever shift for the next few nights.
