How do I download apps with my Indian address?
If I have an 'apk' file, how do I install the application on Kindle Fire?

As far as I know, you can't download apps using an Indian credit card. On the Fire's product page on the website, it says: "If you're traveling with Kindle Fire, you can access any content you've downloaded to your device or shop for new books and magazines anytime you like. With a U.S. credit card, you'll also be able to purchase new apps and music for Kindle Fire while you are abroad. To purchase, download or stream movies and TV shows, you must be physically present in the U.S. and have a U.S. billing address."

Amazon checks your credit card address and the IP address from which you are trying to download the apps.

To add to John's post, which is for U.S. residents travelling abroad,
Kindle Fire Restrictions for International Customers:

At this time, we are able to ship Kindle Fire to only customers with a U.S. billing and shipping address.

Note that international customers are not able to purchase some types of content on Kindle Fire and not all functionality is available for international customers using Kindle Fire. You must be physically located within the United States to purchase, stream, or initiate a download from Amazon Instant Video. MP3 purchases from Amazon are only available to U.S. customers.

Also, from the App Store for Android: The Amazon Appstore is only available to customers located in the United States

Thanks, Pineapple. I was in a hurry and forgot about that part of the information.

John - No problem. It seems there are two sets of rules now. One for international customers and one for U.S. residents.

Thanks John and Pineapple. Your comments were useful, though disappointing.

Could anyone reply to the second part of my query, about installing 'apk' files?
