How do I get Kindle Fire to stop putting extra periods in my text?

Depends what you're doing when this happens.

It's done by voice command. Turn on the device, and in a clear voice say, "Kindle Fire. Please stop putting extra periods in my text. Thank you." You my have to remind it a few times a week, but after a while it will get the idea and stop messing with you.

Good luck.

You're not by chance, trying to read something written by William Shatner?

Many people have this problem when first typing on the Fire. The space bar is smaller than on a regular keyboard and the period key is right next to it so it,s easy to hit the period instead of a space. Sorry to say this, but it's you that's putting them there, not the Kindle.

Sharon, if you are using the old habit of tapping the space bar twice at the end of a sentence, that may be what is causing the extra period.
