Todays topic might be a bit strange but I have been thinking about this a lot lately and thought I would
put it out there...
How do you get to us?
Really, When you turn on your computer or tablet or whatever device you are using..
What are the steps you take to get to our thread.............

I think it will be interesting to see the different ways that are used..

Good morning Snowlady Sandy
I got here I think as it was at the bottom of a thread I was on, my memory is poor and I lost you and forgot to visit!
I answer/join in when I receive email as I use that to jog my memory and, of course, I was always taught to answer letters. Good manners do count so much don't they?

It's getting to be cold in some places.. Hope that it isn't this cold for anybody here..

Hi everyone!

Just popping in, it's been a long time since I posted, I know, but I keep reading all the same.

A quick hello to any other indie writers out there doing NaNoWriMo this November, and a big thank you to our readers!

Good morning Snowlady Sandy,

Thank you for starting.

It's usually easy to find the thread. I log into Amazon and click on discussions. The thread is always on "Your recently viewed discussions" and of course at the end of the day, I click on the link the starter so kindly leaves for us to get to the next day.
"Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!!"

I hope you slept well.

Morning Irish mist, nice to see you this morning.

Hi Sandy
Thank you for doing the start today :-)

I always use a pc and Google Chrome and "pin" the tab with the discussion on it, I have 6 pinned tabs and each time I open Google Chrome all six tabs open up ready for me and there you all are, since I never actually log off it remembers where I was at home when I get to work and I am completely up-to-date and ready to read and post. :-)
I also have various bookmarks - one is Customer Discussions - Kindle forum
http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle/ref=cm_cd_f_h_dp_t?_encoding=UTF8&cdAnchor=kindle&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG

I am glad that you brought this up Sandy, I have often wondered how folks get back to us (I found the discussions very hard to find originally - as I have no links on my account page and the ammy help is no help at all - until someone told me that on each kindle book page there is a link called "Discussions" otherwise I would never have found my way back - it is so strange that ammy renders so differently in different countries.

Good morning and brrrrrrr! Sally
I know to put my yahoo or my gmail on and get there then you see....
I am unsure by what you mean about "logging on to Amazon". Do you mean go to shop because we all know that one? !!!!!
So, where would the other bits you mention be? Just to let you know, not stupid but fearfully ignorant about tekky doings and tekky words. Have done well I think to trot about this kindle treasure of mine but I have really messed it up a lot and I think Amazon bods must draw lits for the unlucky one to get the idiot to deal with on this one! I have also received much help from people like yourself and I am always very grateful!
I do have a book and i note, most conscientiously, the information I receive nd practice assiduously when I feel lively and alert.

Angela's Song by AnnMarie Creedon
Publication Date: October 7, 2012
Angela `Jel' Cooke is a widow and mother of three who stays busy so as not to have to face the fact that her marriage was damaged and her husband, Devin, died before it could be repaired. Her good friends realize that no amount of home made lasagna, volunteering at church or late night games of Yahtzee can heal Angela from past regrets. When she meets Jack, the teacher of a class she is taking, he challenges her to face her demons. What follows is the poignant, yet often hilarious saga of how Angela overcomes her guilt and learns to love herself and others.

I have taken the liberty to copy your post from the Links Only thread (I hope you don't mind) - but they are not so much into 'chat' over there and your questions will probably not get answered :-(
But here - well this group is very special :-)

Good morning everybody
That is a clever use of the typewriter on the kindle!
We have a dog and he is old too but also has his playful moments!
I have just ticked the box to receive posts as I forget to do things and the email naturally jolts that memory.
I have a kindle firehd 7 inch which I refert as "my precious" as it seems to be practically glued to my hands and, have loved it since I got it to work somewhat - still plenty of things to learn on it but I am untutored and non-tekky. Surely I cannot be the only one like this? Everyone seems to be so proficient and I do feel to be the "dunce" of technology. Lessons are not available in rural Ireland unless I join a class for a year to receive a standard qualification I do not need nor desire. I think the young ones need those places, and, the ones who have become unemployed and have an urgent need to gain these skills don't you?
I would rather have a 10 minute lesson here and there which would help me me to get to grips with something, correct me or leave me for a while to practice. I can get a lift (they stopped buses) at the moment bht I am not able to get around quite as I did and to promise regular attendances is also too much. Are there any older bod here that feel irregular does not mean uninterested?
We got apps in Ireland a few months ago. I am going wild with excitement here! I now have books, apps that enable films, radio/plays, games of ALL SORTS and I have have never seen anything like it! I LOVE IT!
I am ignorant of terms and forgetful. Ig is nit a good combination but you will bear with me, will you?
I should like to know what ASIN is?
Thank you, and yes I do witter on!

Fire Country (The Country Saga)
In a changed world where the sky bleeds red, winter is hotter than hell and full of sandstorms, and summer's even hotter with raging fires that roam the desert-like country, the Heaters manage to survive, barely.

Due to toxic air, life expectancies are so low the only way the tribe can survive is by forcing women to procreate when they turn sixteen and every three years thereafter. It is their duty as Bearers.

Fifteen-year-old Siena is a Youngling, soon to be a Bearer, when she starts hearing rumors of another tribe of all women, called the Wild Ones. They are known to kidnap Youngling girls before the Call, the ceremony in which Bearers are given a husband with whom to bear children with.

As the desert sands run out on her life's hourglass, Siena must uncover the truth about the Wild Ones while untangling the web of lies and deceit her father has masterfully spun.

first in the series....

KayKay says:
ASIN - is a product identification number assigned by amazon to each individual item.
Ex a book released will have an ASIN number to identify it, if it is re released it may have a new ASIN for the the new release.

Hope that makes sense

Thanks Sandy for starting and for the thought provoking thought.

I have a bookmark and follow the recently viewed links as well as the new day !ink at the end of the previous day. I must admit, sometimes I loose my gently viewed links if I am hopping around. lol
Love my bookmarks, but can always go to ammy - kindle - ebooks - discussions.
We try to do a good job of staying on page one.!

@ Irish mist
Well Sally says that I am to answer your question about ASIN
The Amazon Standard Identification Number is a 10-character alphanumeric unique identifier assigned by Amazon.com and its partners for product identification within the Amazon.com organization.
When you go to a book page you will find it under the product details, and it also shows in the address bar of the book (if you can find it amongst all the other numbers and letters already there LOL)

Well that was one question - but I am sure that you have more so please just ask away - there are lots of us here who are ready and willing to answer whatever questions turn up - about just about anything not only books and amazon :-)

ETA (edited to add)
I see that KayKay beat me to it with answering your question, which goes to show that there is always someone who wants to help :-)

@ Susan
Does that mean that you do not 1-click all the other books you post ??

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 12, 2013 6:32:25 AM PST
Susan says:
Yep, you're right.
I usually just post books as a bump - and then try to remember to add when I really do 1-click on something that sounds good to me :)

From my wishlist...

Scavengers (Posadas County #1) (Posadas County Mysteries)
A body is found in the unforgiving New Mexico desert, its face so smashed that identification is impossible. It's the beginning of a brutal murder spree that will take Posadas County's new undersheriff, Estelle Reyes-Guzman, into a case with roots on both sides of the border.
Retired Sheriff Bill Gastner, now a state livestock inspector, is still close at hand to provide unerring logic and horse sense as Reyes-Guzman attempts to identify the "Juan" Doe. Another body turns up in a shallow grave, revealing little about the killer, but more about the victims. And when a suspicious fire takes a third life, the terrible twist finally offers the break Estelle has been looking for, one that will lead her back into a harsh, merciless desert where death welcomes all.

Death by Marriage (Book #3 in the Caribbean Murder Series)
A well-known criminal lawyer is found dead in a back alley in St. Thomas, and Cindy and Mattheus are called in to investigate by the grieving widow. The local police have pinned her for the murder, and Cindy and Mattheus are her last hope in vindication.
As Cindy and Mattheus dig deeper into the victim's past, they learn that all was not as rosy as it seemed. They discover mistresses, gambling debts, vendettas, and a number of people who had motivation to want him dead. Most shocking of all, as they dig even deeper, they discover a whole secret life that he lead, one so lurid that the people who knew him best can hardly even conceive it.
As a hurricane closes in and the police are insistent, despite all evidence, to arrest the widow, Cindy and Mattheus find themselves in a race against time to find the killer. When another body turns up, all involved realize the stakes may be even higher than they seem. And as Cindy and Mattheus develop feelings for each other, each grieving from the death of their own spouse, Cindy comes to realize there is even more at stake than she thinks.

Henry Wood: Time and Again (Henry Wood Detective series)
Fans of Dashiell Hammett, who long for days of Bogart and Becall, will appreciate Henry Wood's sleuthing.
1955, Manhattan, and Henry has just gotten the call. Mickey is dead. His long time mentor and friend, run down outside their favorite bar, The Dublin Rogue. It looks like a simple hit and run, but keen eyes notice there is only one empty parking spot on the street, and the pile of cigarette butts in the gutter tells a different tale. Somebody was waiting, but who?
A novel in black and white, it harkens back to the days before Google, cell phones, and computer data bases. Henry must use cunning to uncover the truth, because everyone connected to the case has an agenda. There is much sleuthing and just the slightest hint of science fiction hiding in the closet of Henry's basement. All of it, though, is there to give him a chance to uncover the answers.
Take a journey back in time and see Manhattan as it was when the Yankees always seemed to win, and Brooklyn had Ebbets Field and the Dodger. There is history, intrigue and hints at romance that will keep you turning page after page until it is time to flip off the light.

Jackpot day! ;-)
