I bought a Kindle Fire !st generation off ebay and it worked perfectly for about 3 to 4 months but now it seems to want to charge right. It'll start charging and then stop and start again..I charge it with a wall adapter so it shouldn't take over 4 to 5 hours but the other night I put it on charge and woke that morning and was only on 66% and it had been on charge for about 10 hours.the port does seem to be loose. So I don't know if it's the port or the battery. Also when I put it on last night it was about 45 or % left and when I checked on it about 3 hours later it was at 35%since I got it off ebay I don't know how old it is and I'm not sure if amazon would do anything about..If you've have something similar happen to you please let me know and how you fixed it..thank you!!

The first generation Fire had an issue with the charging port. You probably don't have any warranty but there is no harm is calling Kindle support to see what they will do. Sometimes they will offer a replacement at a reduced cost.

I understand that there are places on eBay (and other sites) that will fix the charging port issue as well as videos on line to show you how to fix the issue (if you so desire)
