I went to read on my Fire this afternoon so tapped the cover of the book and nothing came up. All my books did the same thing. I tried syncing and no luck. I then tried a hard restart and that didn't help.

I hate to restore it to factory defaults so does anyone have any idea what I can do to get my books back? Thanks in advance for any info.

Go to the cloud and click on the books one by one to download them to the Fire. Unfortunately, that's they only way to get books reloaded to a device once you do a factory reset.

Hi Blaiz,

Thanks for the response. I haven't done a factory reset yet and want to avoid it. I just can't understand why none of the books will respond and load when I tap them.

Did you hold the power button for a full 30 seconds when you did hard restart? I know it says 20 seconds, but 30 seconds makes a big difference on some devices.

If that doesn't work, contact CS before doing the reset to factory defaults., click on the Contact Us button.

Hi Blaiz,

Yeah, tried the reboot but it didn't work. Called CS and they had me do a couple of things and now we're back in business. Thanks again for your help!
