Im getting charged for books on prime account

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 20, 2013 8:24:42 PM PST
Return them for credit. To borrow free books on prime, you have to do it from the kindle itself, and click on borrow, not on buy. One book per month

seedlady says:
1. one book per calendar month

2. requested from actual kindle, not computer.

3. from correct account.

(those are the problems we usually see. if you have another, please elucidate.)

4. NOT through an app like Kindle for PC

A. Dietz says:
You're getting charged because you're clicking on the BUY button, not the BORROW button. If you're not seeing a BORROW button, you're doing something wrong. Follow the tips from seedlady above to correctly borrow a book from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library, or read the instructions here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=kindle_help_forum_faq?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200757120

OK I did return it from my kindle, no prob, it returned. But then I went back to "borrow it" and there is NO borrow button to click. Maybe the first attempt was my choice for the month. If so, that sucks.

With Prime, you can borrow one book per month*. Prime is first and foremost a shipping program; it's not an all-you-can-read club.

Amazon is in business to sell books an other stuff - it's not a library.

*ETA - provided you also own a Kindle device.

I am also on the prime trial. Maybe I can only get "samples" of the book through the prime until it updates??? idk.

Stop hitting the BUY button and learn how to borrow the ONE book a month...

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 21, 2013 7:05:34 AM PST
Have you borrowed a book in February? If so, you have to wait until March, assuming your trial period runs into March.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 21, 2013 7:05:37 AM PST
I understand that. Thank you. : /

You can borrow books from your library. eReaderIQ.com is a great resource for free and inexpensive ebooks. Have you looked at the daily and monthy deals? Plenty of inexpensive books there, but the choices can be hit-or-miss.

I will ignore your issues and responses. You are rude.

Jazzy Jeff is direct, but he's not incorrect. If you haven't already borrowed a book in February, you need to contact Amazon Customer Service. We're customers here - we can't see what's going on with your account.

When did you start your trial? If you started today, you may need to wait for the info to propagate through Amazon's network.

You can contact Amazon CS by clicking the Help (or Customer Service) link at the top of the page.

I dont care who is he or what he is, the rudeness is NOT wanted. I regret my first post. I will not be responding nor posting any longer. If I wanted rudeness Id ask for it.

Are you using an actual Kindle device to borrow?

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 21, 2013 7:15:40 AM PST
MikeJW says:
Well, Karen: you are clearly pressing the "buy" button, and then you wonder why you bought it.

Just Peachy says:
fine, take your toys and go home.
People are trying to help you and you apparently want someone to wave a magic wand to solve your problems.

Read everyone's posts again and assume people are genuinely trying to help. You gotten some good - and correct - advice here. Whether you choose to make use of it is up to you.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
Aww, I scared another one off. Darn. Next time you may want to let people know how they are supposed to answer you. I didn't say anything wrong in my post but gave you a direct answer. If you feel embarrassed because you were hitting the buy button and expecting a borrow that is not my problem.
