Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE Wireless, Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, 32 GB Can it be used with a bluetooth keyboard?

Typing this with an Apple Bluetooth keyboard on a Kindle HD 7". While it works (kind of) - it leaves a lot to be desired.

Keystroke autorepeat time seems very low, often produces duplicate characters, not figured out a way to prevent it.

Lots of the UI seems incapable of being driven by the keyboard. (Or at least I've not figured out the shortcuts to do) - so there's lots of screen touching to select things even in the browser. Keyboard only seems marginally useful inside textboxes, address bar, but you'll have to touch/click to get there.

There seems to be no control panel for configuring bluetooth keyboard devices e.g. character mapping.

So while it works - it is hard to use as an alternative to on-screen keyboard.
