Any chance that Amazon will come out with a new improved Kindle keyboard?

I really like my current keyboard reader but it's getting to be about 3 years old and is very slow. I use it every day about 4 to 6 hours a day and I constantly am recharging the battery Is there a way I can perk it up?

When my KK got sluggish, I restored it to factory defaults and only put back on it what I was going to read in the next few weeks. It perked right back up.

I'd also watch how many books/items you keep on the KK. I have 5 of these and have noticed that the more items, the slower the device - even when there is a large space still available.

I wish Amazon would come out with an improved KK - it is, by far, my favorite of the available devices.

Yep! Sometimes the number creeps up some on mine, and I have to do a little culling. But it's stayed improved since that reset!

I believe that the Touch series with the keyboard on the screen was Amazons update to the KK. Of course that's only my opinion.

I do a complete reset or a clean install on all of my computing devices once a year. I recommend this to everyone.

I try to reset and reinstall my brain at least that often.

I had the same experience - my KK was almost dead and needed to charge the battery daily.. Did a factory restore and it's been like new ever since (and that was about a year ago).

And it was very liberating. It was like moving a hulking bookcase out of my bedroom out into a hallway alcove, and just leaving my TBRs on the nightstand. Ahhhhh!

I agree - and wish I could do that with all my physical DTBs... (I'm bit of book hoarder).

A friend of mine is, too, to the extent that in addition to the bookcases all over the house, they also built paperback-sized shelving over every doorframe. It was kind of a neat look, but it sort of closed in the rooms.

When I moved across the country, I culled 90% of my DTBs, and that was even pre-Kindle. I was such a Library maven then; I assumed I'd resume that habit here. But the hours for my local Library are so limited, that I literally *can't* make it there most of the time.

I am down to two 6-foot high x 1-foot deep/wide tower bookcases that frame my front door. And not all of the cubbies house books, even.
