Dear Amazon, you have done a great job with the kindle product line. Knowing the quality you can output makes me think you would be the perfect company to design an E-ink laptop. With all of the devices out there with LED/LCD screens, there is nowhere to turn without sacrificing your eyesight. At work you're on a PC, at break time you're on your Iphone and at home you re watching TV. And if you're an occasional blogger or novice book writer you need something that can be used for a long time without straining your eyes. I know you would be sacrificing video playback and beautiful imagery but this laptop is not intended for that; its a working mans laptop. In addition to being easier on your eyes, battery life will drastically be better, I would assume you could get 30hrs. Personally my best writing is done outside the city, closer to nature and I would like to not have the worry of my laptop going dead anytime. Please consider this. Thanks.

If they develop a DX Paperwhite with bluetooth for next year's line, your wishes will be granted.

This will never happen. Where would you get programs for it? What operating system would they use for it. Most people who have laptops like to be able to watch videos on them.

I was thinking of a web based writing - no actual programs on the device.

eInk refresh rates would have to get a whole lot faster.

They are actually not bad on the Paperwhite for reading the forum but the screen is too small.

We're not Amazon over here, we're just over customers. So if you were looking for other Kindle owners' opinions on your idea, you've come to the right place. Otherwise, you need to write

Just Peachy says:
My eye doctor explained to me that your eyesight is NOT getting worse because of looking at the computer. If your eyes feel strained from looking at the computer, you need to blink more often. We tend to NOT blink. He did agree with the studies that show backlit devices interfere with melatonin levels and should not be viewed right before bedtime.
