2. Register Your Kindle
After you've successfully connected your Kindle Fire to a Wi-Fi network, register your Kindle.

(Why do I need to register?)

Tap the Quick Settings icon.
Tap the More icon.
Tap My Account.
Tap the Register button and enter the e-mail address and password of your Amazon account. Tap the symbol keyboard button to switch to the numbers and symbols keyboard. Tap the shift key to switch to the uppercase character keyboard. Tap the box next to Show password to display your password as you type.
Tap the Register button when finished.
If you don't already have an Amazon account, tap the Create an account link, or visit on your computer to create one.

When registering your Kindle Fire, you may see a "deregister" instead of "register" option. This means your Kindle Fire is already registered to another account. This may happen if you received your new Kindle Fire as a gift. Select "deregister" to register your Kindle Fire to your Amazon account instead.

The user guide won't let me copy/paste, and i don't want to re-type... Go to page 6.

If you ordered it on the account you want it registered to, and you did not select that it's a gift, then you shouldn't need to do anything.

Elizabeth, around here many establishments offer free wi-fi, such as McDonalds, Panera Bread, Starbucks etc. You could go to one of those and get on their wi-fi and register your Fire. Bear in mind if you don't know the password for your wi-fi network you will have to find a free open wi-fi hotspot every time you want to download any new books or other content to your Fire.

Does anyone know how to find the date you registered your kindle fire? I know you have 30 days to get the warranty and I would like to make sure I wouldnt have passed the deadline.

One solution might be to do a hard reset on your wireless router to restore it to factory settings. Then you would go through setting it up again. On older routers that is a lot of work. I bought a new Cisco (Linksys) E2500 router which I found very easy to set up. It also has a CD with a utility to find lost passwords. If your wireless router is an older model, you might consider getting a new model. Setup has improved a lot.

Just Peachy says:
You need to get to a better wifi area or purchase a new wifi router for your home. Without dependable wifi you are going to miss out on a lot of the features of the fire.

Once you register the fire to the same Amazon account as the touch all your books will be in the cloud and you can download them to the fire by tapping on the cover.
