C. Arendtsen - Yes, you can. You need a cable like this.

Thank you for the fast response and link *~*Pineapple*~*. I read in another post that it was not possible, but I saw a cable at the store for something like this and figured it must be possible. Just wanted to make sure it worked for the Fire and not just the Fire HD.

Wondering says:
I'm pretty sure the above cable can not be used with the non-HD Kindle Fire 2, My original Fire only has one port, a USB one for charging it. It doesn't have an HMDI one which is the kind that cable needs in order to work. So unless Amazon added an HDMI port to the Fire 2 (giving it two ports instead of one), it's impossible to hook the device up to a TV.

C. Arendtsen - Ooops! I thought you were asking about the Fire HD. I don't think you can on the 2nd Gen Fire.

ETA - I just checked. No, the 2nd Gen Fire doesn't have the HDMI output port. Sorry I mislead you.

So, there is NO way to watch movies on my television?

That depends entirely on what television you have, and what device you're trying to stream to it from. The devil is in the details, so, please share them, if you expect help.

Kindle fire hd 7 second generation uses the second screen feature so if you have a kindle fire tv, playStation 3 or 4 or a Samsung 2013 tv u can use the feature the icon will show up only on Amazon prime movies, for the HDX models they use mirror tech hopes this helps anyone who visit...even the techs at amazon couldn't explain this to me I had to research and it is listed here on Amazon look under kindle support....and sesrch...
