Maybe this is a dumb question, but If I download a audible book to my computer to then transfer to my kindle, does anyone know if you can transfer that same book to another kindle?

Sorry, no. Audible's books are DRMed so they can't be lent. If you want to lend it out you have to download and burn the CD version (multiple CDs) through Audible's software.

Audible has a nice iOS app for the iPhone that works on the iPad. It may be best to use their app and download directly into the app.

If the ipad works like my Android phone, you'll need to download and install an Audible app first. Then you enter your Audible account info and then you'll be able to download your Audible books and play them.

Of course, there is no guarantee Apple will have things set up that way, but at least it gives you a place to start.

If my sister is on my Amazon account, can she listen to an audible book at the same time I am listening to it? I know she can read a book at the same time, but don't know about the audibles as I have not purchased my first one yet. Thanks in advance.

I haven't actually had an Audible on more than 1 Kindle, but I do have the same book on both my Kindle and my Galaxy Android, and I just went to the MYK page and it would let me send that same one to my husband's Kindle so my best guess is that the answer is "yes."

@MamaSylvia, Thanks for your quick response. I may try an Audible book on a road trip from the central highlands of Mexico to the U.S. Probably need to purchase a Kindle charger for my car too. Thanks again.

MamaSylvia says:
Rather than a specific Kindle charger, you might want to purchase a USB charger so you can plug your Kindle USB cord in to charge it and plug other device USB cords in also.

Once you've downloaded the audiobook to your device, there's no other check I think, so you can listen to it from multiple devices at the same time. You can even log into your account in the app, download the book and log out, and the book will remain on your device.

I recently signed up for audible and got a book on dieting, Grain Brain which I want to listen along with my husband and daughter. Is it allowable to download the audible book on each of our mobile devices (total 3 devices)? We want to listen to it separately and then have joint discussions on it.

All of the devices would have to be registered to the same account in order to do that.

Be aware that if they are whispersync'd, each must turn his device to airplane mode while "reading/" Otherwise, you can find yourselves returning after a break at a different 'page' of the book.

I'm not certain about audible's granting simultaneous downloads of the same book. I know I can download once to iTunes and, from there, put the same book on multiple iPods but I don't know if multiple downloads on Kindle Devices can be done.

Just don't know.

Audible and Amazon accounts have been linked for a while. Do you use different email addresses for the accounts?
