Kindle Keyboard. Can I download books by hooking my kindle directly to the computer without using wireless?

Yes. When you purchase a Kindle book, before you use the 1-Click button, change the destination (on the drop-down list under the button) to Transfer via computer. It will ask you what device will receive the transfer; choose your Kindle. Once the book is downloaded, you can attach the USB cord and drag and drop the book(s) to the Documents folder on the Kindle.

Thanks so much. I lost my wireless for a bit and really don't want to miss any good books. I'll give this a try.

Here are the instructions: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200798780 You do need to connect to WiFi at least once to register your Kindle, if you haven't done that already.
