inquesative, no, there is no camera on the Fire. There is a very complete list of features on the product page for the Fire.

Kindle Fire, Full Color 7" Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi

No, it has a camera like on the iPad 1, in that it has no camera at all.

Does the product page mention a camera?

No? Well then, I guess it doesn't have a camera.

read the product page

It has a camera. It's not mentioned on the product page because Jeff likes to surprise people! He's that kinda nice.

Well, seeing as there is no device called an "I pad 3" and the Kindle Fire does not have a camera. Yes, the Fire does have a non existent camera, just like the non existent device does.

There isn't a thing called the iPad 3. Its the revolutionary new iPad.

Yes, but you must first subscribe to Prime Deluxe . I can sign you up right away , just send me your billing info , and one droplet of blood . Prime Deluxe includes unlocking the 21.5 megapixel camera , multi-phasic scratch resistant shielding , and of course the hidden 3g/GPS functions . Please note , everything I'm stating is a lie , and is only for my own amusement ;-) sorry

Maybe you mean this device:

The Fire's camera only exists in a divergent timeline. The good news, though, is that you don't get it FOR FREE in this one!

If it doesn't have a camera, then what is that little camera looking thingy in the left hand corner of the Fire?

(...and away we go...)

The Incertain Principal suggests that each time someone asks if the Fire has a camera, a new, divergent timeline splits off from the 2-brane.

A one-way spy cam. You can see it, but it can't see you. Not the most effective spy cam out there, but it did keep costs down.

Wow, that Jeff is such a fun kind of guy. You should see what my K3 can do.

On second thought, you shouldn't. Jeff is also a little on the, how shall I say it . . . Ah, there is no way to say it without getting personally escorted out the door by Jeff himself. :(

THINK:
1. Does the Fire descriptive literature say that the Fire has a camera?

2. Would the descriptive literature fail to say that the Fire has a camera if it did have a camera?

How do I get to the divergent timeline? I've been wanting to take a vacation and this sounds right up my alley. (Is it dark there? Cause my alley is pretty dark.)

Actually, it DOES have a camera, and YOU spotted the lens. However, that camera is NOT for customer use...so it does NOT have a camera like the iPad's. The Fire camera is only for the use of Big Brother, as he spies on YOU.

Hey. Each to their own. ;)

I find it hard to believe that there are 21 posts in this thread and no one has yet mentioned that in addition to the existence of the nonexistent camera/webcam if you have the proper apps, it makes excellent waffles AND has a warmer for your Vermont Real Maple Syrup.

Geez. Y'all always leave out THE most important feature of the fire especially considering that it is this selling point that has allowed Ammy to sell millions of these fires. Who knows? Without the waffle making ability, their sales might have topped out at a few thousand.

Thank Ming that a kind and good samaritan tipped me off about this thread. No telling how many posts the noobs would have had to wade through before stumbling upon the vital information contained in this post. (Please to notice, at no point in this statement do I employ the word "read.")

I have been told by a very reliable source that the next generation fire will also have the oft requested "clean my bathroom" feature. But remember, this is a top secret bit of information so if anyone asks, you didn't read it here.

Tangie! How dare you release this informationi. It's supposed to be for Super Prime, Top-of-the-Line, Mega-Loved, Hand-Picked-by-Jeff Customers Only.

Honestly, one of these days I'm going to have to rescind your top secret clearance because you keep revealing our top secrets!!!!!!!!

Well, I should hope so.
The Clean the Litter box app did not work at all!

Uh-Oh. *Hangs head in shame*

I know Anna. I shouldn't have. I just got so darn excited that there's a shiny new camera thread...

I'll try harder and do better from now on. I promise. Pinky swear, even.

But I did keep quiet about the new mer...

Oops. Never mind.
