Are there earphones available that fit Kindle Fire? Can't find one that Amazon offers for this item

Any headphones will work. There's no need for a Fire specific model.

Not TRUE! I cant use my ipod earbuds. And have tried several others that claim to fit kindle fire. Still searching since I don't want to pay more than $20.

Interesting. I use my iPhone earbuds on my Kindle Keyboard with no problems. Does the Fire have a different jack?

Carbonbased says:
It's a standard 3.5mm earbud jack. If you can't hear anything, check to make sure the jack is fully seated and you have turned the volume up on the Fire--Gear; Volume; orange bar goes all the way to the right.

Any 3.5 plug will work. The 3.5 plugs are pretty much universal these days. You can get 3.5mm ear buds at Wal-Mart for $5 that work just fine.

I have used at least 6 different sets that I have had around the house with no problem.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
If they plug in they should work. Make sure you are pushing it in all the way. If they are not working you could have a faulty device. You might want to restart the Fire and see if that fixes it. If not contact customer service.

I'm using the Sony earphones that I use for my generic mp3 player. I believe that you can get them on this website for around $10.

U can use any ear buds. The fix is that u have to turn down volume all the way. Grand daughters just figured it out

The official case I purchased with the Kindle HD did not have an opening large enough for the headphone plugs on most of my headphones to seat properly but they all work fine with the case removed.

I have some headphones that I use for xbox 360, but the headphones barely work for Kindle Fire. I can barely hear any sound.

I have just bought the kindle fire hd and I can't find the jack you guys are talking about. Only a flat shaped one next to the charger socket. Help!

In reply to an earlier post on May 4, 2013 3:33:06 AM PDT
@V. Knappett: Hold the Fire with the charger socket on the right. The power switch is now at the top of the Fire. Look to the left of the power switch. You'll see the headphone socket there.

@V. Knappett: It was partly hidden on mine as well. Enjoy. :>)

not all earphones work. Some are too small--cover on or off.

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 20, 2014 4:50:32 AM PDT
If you have earbuds for an older phone, it may be 2.5mm size, which is too small. But that size isn't used so much now, 3.5 is the standard.

D Nalop says:
insert the ear phone plug, turn the volume down and then turn it up slowly and the audio magically comes on. It worked for me.

Headphones with a built in microphone (small thin plastic oblong device halfway down the wire) will not work with Kindle Fire. Earplugs or headphones which only have wire connecting to the jack plug from the ear plugs will work.
