When reading an article a "pop-up" advertisment comes on and blocks most of the content I'm reading!! This is very irritating and I can't get rid of these damn things! I object to having them enter my viewing!

Complain to the websites, darling--those are THEIR site's ads. Some offer a Reading View you can use, but most "article" sites have pop-ups, I'm afraid. You just have to find the tiny X and close the ad.

Bufo Calvin says:
James, I assume you are reading the articles on websites on a Kindle Fire?

There are some sites I simply don't visit because of the practice, but a few suggestions:

* Contact the website: that's the entity responsible
* Try turning your device to the other orientation (landscape vs. portrait...rotate your Fire). That's some times made the article able to be read for me
* Try using Send to Kindle or one of the other article clipping services...I believe you may not have the pop-ups when you read the article you've sent

Believe me! I've looked and looked and can't find that "little" X. That's parat of this frustration. Thanks anyway. JES

upper right of the pop up usually - and it's tiny

Houston Chronicle is bad, so are Wall Street Journal articles, some CNN sites, People Magazine, etc - they want you to either get their app or subscribe to their sites
