When I choose Get for Kindle to check out library book it takes me directly to purchase page on Amazon. I never see the Get Library Book message. Have watched all instructional tutorials but not helping because I never receive that message that all tutorials say I should. Have double checked in Manage My Kindle

Are you already signed in to Amazon? Go to the manage your kindle page if it doesn't give you the message about turning on your wifi, you can download from MYK.

Thanks for replying. I'm signed in. My WiFi is on. And it is in my bookshelf on overdrive but not transfered to Kindle so won't show up in MYK . It just keeps taking me to purchase book pg. On Amazon.

: ) But nowhere on page is link to get library book. Only purchase & transfer to my Kindle like a normal book I would buy. I even clicked that just in case but it bought the book so had to return it. On overdrives Kindle forum pg it says exact steps I'm doing but still no Get Library Book option.

Works for me. I'm taken to Amazon and there is a button on the right that says "deliver to xxx's Kindle." You click that one instead of button to buy the book.

The help page says:

After you have checked out the title, choose Get for Kindle to have it sent to your Kindle. You'll be redirected to Amazon.com's Public Library Loan page for that title. If you're not logged into Amazon, you'll need to enter your login for your Amazon.com account.

If you are not seeing the Public Library Loan page, I would suggest contacting customer service. Click on Help at the top of this page and then click on the "Contact US" button. I suggest using the option to have them call you. They will call within about a minute.

Thanks. I'll try that because I've read like a hundred help forums on both sites & I'm actually not that technically challenged but for some reason no matter what I try never get the. message everyone else is seeing.

It's been a while since I set up my overdrive account. I wonder if it is not connecting you to the correct Amazon account.

I can't figure why I'm not being redirected to Amazon's library loan page when I click get for Kindle. I choose my Kindle book in the library, proceed to checkout, choose get for Kindle and am taken directly to purchase book with no other options. Gonna try contacting them. Thanks

That's what I think is happening because I'm never taken to Amazon's public library loan page.

Cath - Try a different web browser. If you're using IE, try Firefox or Chrome and see if that makes any difference (just a hunch on my part).

Did you get it to work yet? FWIW, I use Chrome and haven't had a problem, maybe you should try what Laura said.

Wowza. Was live chatting with 2 different people who kept telling me the same steps I've been trying. Then talked with someone but too hard to understand so trying again later. Also going to try different browser but using app from phone so gotta figure outhow to do that. Thanks

could be the app on the phone that is causing the problem...try your computer...I gave up on using overdrive on my phone because it was a PITA

The OverDrive App that I have on my Fire will only allow me to check out epub books. I have to check out Kindle books via the computer or the web browser on the Fire. Could that be the prob?

It has to be something with the app. I'm gonna try laptop & will post if I'm finally able to borrow library book & transfer to Kindle. Hope so cuz that's a great option.

if you have to have a kindle/kindle app to read them - that is likely the problem - the overdrive app only recognizes formats that IT can use on the current device...so I can't find WMA audiobooks on my iphone using it - it only recognizes MP3's - even though I can listen to WMA through other apps

May I ask what the book is? I'd like to check on my account for you if possible.

I periodically have this problem as well, but only when taking out books on my kindle fire HD. Very frustrating to have to take out the laptop.
