Bestbuy, staples and I think walmart. Target no longer carries Kindle products.

oh cool! thank you. I haven't really been paying attention to where kindles are sold because I have never bought one, but the paperwhite looks like one I will probably like. i live close to BB and walmart (same parking lot in SJ)

I would sincerely recommend you getting it from Amazon. It you don't please check their return policy in case something happens to it. Some places will only take stuff back if it is unopened?

I believe that Wal-Mart has dropped it as well.

Walmart no longer carries Kindles, since they decided to throw a Target-style fit about how Amazon was stealing their customers.

I believe Fry's Electronics also carries Kindles, if you have one near you.

I know that this is a Zombie thread, but I'm going to go ahead and agree with PB Patti on this. I would much prefer to buy from Amazon, especially their Kindle devices, than a b&m store. Amazon's customer service, in particular their Kindle CS is far, far superior to any of the b&m stores. Even though it is by parcel, returns are a piece of cake if needed. IMHO, actually easier than going to the store, waiting in line, and then talking to a human.

And Amazon gives you a 30 day no questions asked return policy on most things, including the Kindle.
