KINDLE FIRE

Michelle, do a hard reset. Unplug the KF. Hold the power button in for 30 seconds. Count it.
Wait 60 seconds and turn it back on.

No need to yell. Do a reboot...press and hold the power button until the Fire shuts off. Release the button, and then press once to turn it back on.

The kindle fire turns on and off without a problem, when I press the green light button. The issue with my Kindle Fires is that the orange bar doen't move as I press and try to slide it with my finger. If I try to turn off manually, with the "Shut Down" or "Cancel" button, those digital buttons do not respond. My assumption is that either the glass circuit is burnt or there is some other issue unknown to me (the 30 seconds and 60 seconds do not work at all). Should I return the piece of equipment to Amazon to be properly fixed? (I used it less than a year!)

You don't need to shut it all the way down. Just a quick press of the power button puts it to sleep. No need to power all the way down.

Thanks, Dr. Folina. I tried it and still the problem is unresolved. I called an Amazon representative (David), he was very helpful and guide me through a couple of processes. At the end, did not work (I have clear picture; the orange bar; all is neat except I cannot go further). So, David told me a discount to buy a new Kindle Fire HD, with a discount. My question was: How do I know that in 12 mo I will not have the same problem? So, the bottom line, I think I will move on with an IPad (I have one; I will try to get one for my wife). Thanks!
