Does anyone know if the YouTube app will be coming to the kindle fire in the near future? Somthing else that would be nice to see is a decent maps app on the kindle fire.

Of course Google will not put up the YouTube app on Amazon its number one competitor. I wouldn't count on Google maps either.

A customer says:
Well Apple is Android's number one competitor and the YouTube app is on the app store along with Google Maps.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
Ask Google then since they are the ones who have to put the apps up. Apple really isn't a competitor since you can only get iPad apps from Apple and Android apps will not work on them.

Apple really isn't a direct competitor with Google as the Apple devices are a different operating system.

Amazon Fire is a Android device and Google has thier own Android tablet the Nexus.

There are some third party youtube apps, plus works great as it only lists non-flash videos.

Rumor is that Amazon is working with Nokia on using Nokia maps. Rumor.

A customer says:
I wonder if there is any chance Amazon would build its own youtube app like Microsoft is doing for Windows phone.

You can easily get the YouTube app from 1mobile:

It works fine on my Fire.
