My kindle broke and there is no way that we can afford a new one right now. I don't mind about my recipes, novels or even notepad I can't use. But my daughters youth books and especially several medical books I need for my sick son right now.
So I was wondering if it is possible to read my books online on amazon until we will be able to afford a new one.

Frank Tuttle says:
Sure! Just install the free Kindle app on your computer, and read using it.

I'll put up a link to the app in a second.

Frank Tuttle says:
Okay, here's your link. They have a Kindle reading app for every device -- iphones, Android phones, PCs, Macs, whatever. Choose, click, download, and go.

B., sorry to hear that!

Yes, you can both read them online and download them to a computer for free.

You get the Cloud Reader to read online here:

https://read.amazon.com/

You get the free reader apps here:

I downloaded the cloud app but I can only view some of my books online. Is there a reason I wouldn't be able to view some of my books?

Is there a way to download kindle app for macbook and ipad for users that are registered in Indonesia market?

Are some of your books personal documents? The Cloud Reader doesn't support personal documents.

Eva, Indonesia is a Kindle Free zone, Amazon can't sell Kindle devices, distribute Kindle apps, or sell Kindle books in your country because of the policies of your government.

I just had my kindle unbricked are my book titles that I bought or downloaded from Amazon available to re install (free)?

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 26, 2014 9:39:16 AM PDT
Once you re-register it to the Amazon account you used to buy the books and do a sync, the titles will appear under the archive/cloud on the device. Click/tap a title and it will download. There's no charge.

Where do you find the books that you purchased? I only see one of them and it is just a sample so I can't read the entire book.

Hover your cursor over "Hello, Carol/Your Account" up there at the top right. Choose "Manage Your Content & Devices". That is a record of your e-books purchased from Amazon.

If you click the little [...] icon next to any title, you can choose what device you'd like to send it to by clicking "Deliver".

Then sync your device (making sure, of course, that wi-fi is turned on, and you're connected to the internet).

My niece will be joining the Peace Corp in Indonesia in March. Will she able to order new books to read for her Kindle 7? Also will she be able to order clothing and other items?

Where is the Kindle 7 registered - to her, to you - what country, whose credit card ?

Book publishers limit their ebooks by geo locations - country - so sometimes it depends upon where the Kindle is registered, along with where the credit card is registered.

Other items are not so restricted - but ordering on Amazon to ship to Indonesia vs finding something closer ??

I live in Indonesia, have Amazon account with Indonesian Citibank credit-card, bought books from Amazon store that is delivered via courier service within few weeks (excellent !). Now I want to read Kindle e-books from my iPad/iPhone, found out that iTune app-store can not sell Kindle app in Indonesia, why? whilst the app is easily available on Android platform everywhere in the world.
Wake up guys, Indonesia is third largest democracy in the world after India, and US, do something about it please!

No, this is due to Amazon, not Apple. Amazon cannot sell Kindle content in Indonesia.
