I registered and unsubscribed my Kindle Fire HD 7 from special offers. I was billed and received a confirmation email.

My kindle fire still has ads. I tried disconnecting my wi-fi and restarting it. I still have ads. What should i do?

Annush,

Have you turned on wifi and synced your Kindle Fire HD?

Thanks, syncing my device worked!

And where are you seeing these ads?

The Special Offers are only the ads you see on the lock-screen page, and along the very bottom of the Home screen. If you are still seeing those after turning on wifi & syncing your Kindle, then contact Customer Service directly.

Have you also hidden Home page Recommendations?
To Remove Recommendations on the Home Screen:
On your Kindle Fire, swipe down from the top of the Screen
Tap "More", and then tap "Applications".
Under "Amazon Applications", tap "Amazon Home Recommendations", and then tap "Hide"

Any other ads you may see are caused by apps; especially free apps, which are supported by ads (that's why their developers' are able to afford to release them for free), or ads could be from websites you have visited. Both these types of ads will not be affected by paying to unsubscribe from Special Offers, and they were't placed there by Amazon.

Oh, great -- glad it worked for you, Annush,

My post just above this was typed out and posted before I saw that the sync worked for you; disregard it if you'd like.

so, how do I get rid of those other ads, the ones caused by free apps or ads I have from websites I have visited in the past?

Anne Shirley says:
The ads in the free apps are why the app is free. Don't want the ads, buy the paid app.

As for "ads from past websites" - clear your cache and change your privacy settings. Other than that, it's the price of being on the internet.

I have the same problem. Paid the fee, received a receipt, but the lock screen ads are still there. I've restarted and synced. Still there. Help please!

Alana: Use the large orange Contact Us button to the right to contact Amazon Kindle CS and talk with them about it - use the live chat or the call back feature if you can, not email. If you can't see a Contact Us button on this page, then go to https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/kindle-help.html and contact CS. I advise using Live Chat or the Call Me Back feature and not email, as they will have your account details available to them immediately when you talk with them.

Alana, I found that I had to actually STOP wifi, then restart it, then restart the tablet....and the ads disappeared.

Many of the free apps have malware attachments that allow adds to get onto your kindle. Read the "rating" in the app description if it indicates "Guidance Suggested" chances are it can add advertisements to your device. delete the app but it you keep getting adds you may need to 'restore to factory settings' then start from scratch to install your setting and apps. I had to do that after a few months and I now check all my apps before installing to make sure the rating does not include this "The app may include account creation, location detection, user generated content, advertisements...." unless I really really trust that app I do not install it.
