Fred says:
Hi. I get a LOT of free Kindle books daily, and a "regular" number of paid-for Kindle books. I have now amassed over 17,000 Kindle books in my Amazon account (yes, that is seventeen thousand!) over the last 3+ years, and I find that I can no longer scroll through them all anymore on the MYK page without Amazon requiring me to log in again, thus resetting where I am in my titanic list. I don't even get close to halfway. It feels like I have now lost access to most of my purchased Kindle books. ("Purchased" is Amazon's own term for both free and not-free Kindle books.)

Unless I know what specific book to search for, then there are thousands, possibly more than 10,000+, that I have no access to anymore within Amazon's "Manage Your Kindle" page because I cannot just scroll to them anymore. Anyone else with this kind of problem?

Also, my work computer has switched me to the "new" MYK page, and it is even WAY MORE UNUSABLE than the previous version. For now, my home computer is still on the much-better-for-me old style MYK page. I tried scrolling through my 17,000+ books on the new MYK page, and after 1 hour got to a year ago (about a fourth maybe of all of my books) when it made me log in again and reset me back to the beginning. Beyond Frustrating!

I admit that this is a very large number of books. But please don't tell me to mass delete books from my account just to accommodate Amazon's own horrible limitations. If Amazon sells me a product that they promise will always be available to me, then by golly, it really should always be available to me to send to my Kindles! (By the way, when I find books that I have purchased for free that are really not worth anything to me, then I really do delete them from my account. But that is a very small number so far.)

I feel like I'm being punished for being an avid Kindle book lover.

This is a customer discussion forum. If you're trying to leave feedback for Amazon - you'd better email that statement to instead.

There's a thread about this.

Well I went to the thread Folina posted, and near the end of that discussion was a link to another (newer) discussion to put the gist of the first discussion back on track. I've posted the link to it below. It is called "Too Many Books and Large Archives - Problems and Solutions"

So that is where I'll be looking for stuff related to my original post.

I had the same problem. I only could see the authors with ending in letters "A" through "M". I used the chat feature to Amazon. I now have the old version back and also a link I can use to access all my books. I am sure Amazon will help you too.

Thanks Debra. I really appreciate your response. I will contact Amazon and inquire about this very soon. Your post gives me hope on this issue.

So you can at least see all your books til this is addressed:

Click on Your Account up at the top
Scroll down to Digital Content
Click on Your Collections.

You cannot delete anything from here, but you can get a view of all your books.

isanythingopen - thanks. I did not previously know about the "Your Collections" list you mention in your post. I have opened it up, and I think it will be a help for me to cope with this problem - especially when I start to put all of my books in Calibre, which will be a gimongous chore I'm not looking forward to. Unfortunately, it appears that this list only loads a small portion of my list at a time. In other words, when I scroll down, it loads books for the new place I have gotten to in the list, but dumps the previously loaded books from the list where I was before. When I scroll back to the beginning (or my previous place in the list), it has to reload those books again, and then it dumps the books I just came from. But having said that, it will still be useful to me, and thank you very much for pointing this out to me.

CBRetriever says:
just please don't use the Trash function on that page

CBRetreiver - good point. I saw that "option," but it looks really dangerous, and there appears to be no explanation of what it really does. Do you have experience with it and know what it does?

CBRetriever says:
yes, what it does is hide books from your Manage Your Kindle page, but leaves them visible in the Cloud/Archives on the kindles - I'd venture a guess that at least 20% of the "can't remove books" problems on kindles are due to people "trashing" books and then being unable to find them under the MYK page to actually delete them

That function no longer appears to work, which should cut down on complaints about missing books.
I had all but about 100 tucked away in the trash to keep them off MYK, and with the new layout they are all back on my MYK.

CBRetriever says:
still works with the old layout - maybe they disabled it to eliminate all the problems it caused

Yep, I should have made it clearer that it's in the new layout that it no longer works.
