It's great to be able to look up definitions of words whie reading a boook on the Kindle Fire; however, looking a word up in the browser is not working. This is frustrating because my iphone allows me to look up words wherever. Could someone let me know if this is possible or not?

Thank You!!!

try a dictionary app - this one is free and it has good reviews

Dictionary - Merriam-Webster

or you could go here and use this site in your browser:

Thank you for the help. I'm looking for something that will work in my browser not a separate application. Basically, let's say I'm googling owls and I find a word I'm interested in defining. I want to be able to highlight the word and see the definition like I can do in the Kindle books.

Do you know anything about that? :)

no, there isn't an option like that - that doesn't even happen on my PC, but you could always just open another tab in the browser to the wiktionary link and use that which is what I do on a PC

According to description, this app should do what you are after.:

As it is not found on Amazon Appstore, you will have to enable installation of "foreign" apps to test it.
