kindle touch error: "text to speech encountered an error."

my bought kindle touch about 2 months ago and when it arrived worked perfectly, but once it's screen was frozen and i found on google that it needed to be restarted(to press 30 seconds to power button). it's worked fine except one thing: when i choose text to speech it shows me that error : "text to speech encountered an error. please restart your kindle or contact kindle costuer service.." so what i have to do? has anyone such problem? thanks : ))

Sounds like you need to restart your Kindle.
That, or contact Customer Service.

If you do restart it and it still doesn't solve your problem, then customer service would probably be the right answer...

You may have to sign in. I would recommend you use the PHONE or CHAT options instead of e-Mail.
CALL ME under the PHONE tab is great if available.
They will call you within minutes.

i have a similar problem. i acquired i kindle Touch 3G in feb 2012 i was too busy to use it. i however bought some books and downloaded free ones. About 15th march i played one song and after which it never played again. It tells me it encountered an error and that i need to contact kindle. For now it cannot play MP3 and cant perform text to speech function!!!t is so disappointing. any out help there?

i have contacted and my problem has been sorted by an upgrade of my software. am ok for now.

The Kindle Touch was not available in Feb 2011 - you must have a Kindle Keyboard - maybe 3rd generation, maybe 2nd generation if you bought it used.

anybody with similar discussion can download kindle touch software update version 5.0.4 or chat live. it will be sorted out.

my kindle touch has developed even a bigger problem!!! it cant get to home screen. I woke up to this frustrating scenario after i dowloaded 5.0.4 update yesterday. when i switched it own it froze, i switched of but has completely refused to boot. i have tried over 10 times to restart to No avail.The only progress is now"the selected application could not be started please try again"

Chat online with customer service. Tell them the exact error message. I was told it was an internal error and was promptly mailed a new one
