This problem just seems to have started. I can not access the appstore, it just goes black and back to the main menu. Also some apps aren't working and it says i need to log in to the appstore to use them? How do i log in? How did it get logged out?

Thanks

I am having this exact issue since upgrading to the latest version. Black screen with an unresponsive search button and nothing else. I hope this gets
fixed soon.

Works fine for me. Is your credit card current and you're not accidentally using a second account?

Credit card works fine. Sync not working either got an app online and the sync does not bring it to the device. Again when i click the appstore it just goes blank for a second and comes back to the main menu. On apps that tell me that i need to be logged in and the ask if i want to log in when i click yes, it just goes back to the main screen.

I am having the same issue on both my phone and tablet. It worked flawlessly for several months then BAM. Anyone find a fix for this? I hate being stuck w/just google play.

I am having the same issue. I can uninstall and reinstall the app store, it fixes it for a bit, then it goes back to the black screen.

I have the same problem. I talked to the Kindle Folks today and they don't know why this is happening. The only way I can get to the App Store is if I do a hard reset or clear the data from the Installed Apps page. this works for a while and then I have to do it again. It appears that the problem may be that after I open several apps and websites, the problem begins. They want me to a Factory Reset to see if that will fix the problem. I'll try this and then see if I still have the problem.

I had to do a factory reset and it worked. Haven' t had any problem getting into the store. It is a pain because I had to reload all bookmarks and my mail. But the problem was fixed.

I think one of the big problems is that the new version is over 30mb in size now. I don't know what Amazon is thinking. I have uninstalled it from my phone. Heck the app is almost 3 times as large as the Google Play Store app. It works fine on my tablet but I have a lot of room on it and enough ram as well.

I had Amazon app store running on my tablet for a while and downloaded a couple of free apps on it. I recently went back to it and found that all I got was a black screen with the search bar on it. The search bar does not work and I am unable to get any apps free or bought from Amazon. I have spent a short while looking on Google to see if there is any fix for this but without any success. The only one I haven't tried is a factory reset that seems to have worked for some. If this is the only way to do it then I, for one, am not prepared to do it.

I Was a bit surprised to find this thread with no comment from Amazon on it as to what they were doing to resolve this as it would seem that many people are being affected by it. At first I thought it was another attempt to force everyone to buy a Kindle Fire, like they are doing with streaming LoveFilm. But then further research showed that many Kindle Fire users are having problems with this app as well.

Any one using this thread have a fix for this problem could they please let me know.

Amazon please resolve this problem and reply to your loyal customers before they become no longer customers.

I have the same issue. The only thing that works for me is to uninstall and reinstall. Even with that I only can use it the one initial time and then the screen goes black again.

I'm having the same problem on both of my girls' tablets. The Gadget Man described it perfectly, " I recently went back to it and found that all I got was a black screen with the search bar on it. The search bar does not work and I am unable to get any apps free or bought from Amazon." It works fine on my phone, but I have to uninstall & reinstall it on their tablets all the time. Basically it works 1 time after I install it. Then the next time I go to use it, I have to uninstall & reinstall it before it works again (for 1 time).

I've found that if you close the appstore, go to settings -> apps -> and clear all the data for the app, it will work the same as reinstalling, and save you a little time, but you still have to log back in and you still only get one shopping session. Complete BS if you ask me.

I second that! They r about to lose my business to google play. Its not worth it to continualy do these work arounds.

I did a hard re-set to factory settings on my Kindle Fire and made sure I had the latest updates and it's been working ever since December. It takes a little bit more time because you have to set up your email and favorites and other individual changes you made to the tablet again but it worked for me. Call Amazon Help Line. They helped me out and got my Fire back on tract.

I am having the exact same problem! Is there a fix yet? If you do a factory reset do you lose all the books you've downloaded?

Like the previous post I've found that if you close the appstore, go to settings -> apps -> and clear all the data for the app. That it works fine after that. I've done this twice in the last 2-3 months.
Bit of a pain but easier than the drastic measures of doing a factory reset.

Everytime I buy an app I get an email notification.
I'm thinking my new email is telling I've won the lottery or I've got a great new job.
No. I've purchased something on amazon... For free! Thanks???

Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Thanks in advance!
