Since my kindle touch was converted to Amazon Australia I keep getting order error 'we are unable to process your order at this time we are working on the problem' This has been happening for last 4 days. I can purchase and download from my PC or iPad and then the book appears on my kindle. Can anyone help me solve this? Thank you Julie

CBRetriever says:
have you tried a reboot with wireless on?

fully charged, unplugged, hold power on for a full 30 seconds

I have tried this but I didn't have it fully charged - I will try this tomorrow once I have charged it.
Thanks

B. Gonzalez says:
Is the credit card on file have an Australian address as th billing address? I believe it needs to be the same country as the Amazon website.

CBRetriever says:
not really - a good percentage of amazon.com's customers don't have a US credit card

B. Gonzalez says:
But are they able to buy Kindle books?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 29, 2013 5:59:19 AM PST
CBRetriever says:
yes, of course they can and they can buy apps as well - why else would we have Kindle Forum Pros from Croatia, South Africa and Australia as well as other foreign customers posting here? There are scads of foreign Kindle owners

the only items they can't get are music and videos and Amazon Prime is useless to them.

This might be interesting for you to do some day - go to this kindle link and keep changing the countries and you'll be amazed at how many different countries kindles can be shipped to from amazon.com:

Thanks for the lesson. Since Julie's Kindle was registered to use in another country but she is now trying to buy on the Australia site, does she need to change the country setting?

From the help section: "View and Update Your Country or Region
To shop the Kindle Store for titles available for your country or region, set the country or region in Manage Your Kindle.

We'll display your country or region at the top of the Kindle Store so you know that you're browsing the catalog of titles available for your country or region. Availability and pricing of titles can vary by country."

sounds like she migrated her account which can only be done by changing her country settings, so I'd presume she's correct thee and since she can purchase through her reading apps, I think the kindle just doesn't know it's switched stores

Is there anything I can do to so my kindle knows it has changed stores?

B. Gonzalez says:
I would start by verifying the country setting: Go to Manage My Kindle, then on the left, click on Country Settings. If that is OK, I would try a reboot by holding the power button for 30 seconds (count them).

CBRetriever says:
that needs to be done on the Australian site, not here if you have changed sites

you need to go there click on Manage Your Kindle there, verify your country settings and your 1-Click payment settings, then sync your kindle or else purchase a kindle book online, then sync your kindle

I have been trying to update my country settings since yesterday. It says no existing address selected. I have used the pull-down menu to select my address (which has not changed since I purchased the kindle) I press update but it keeps going back to no existing address selected. I tried putting in my address from scratch but still goes back to no existing address... I am waiting for my kindle to be fully charged before I try the reboot. My 1 - click payment details are correct.I synced and then tried to buy a buy - still came up with unable to process your order.

are you doing it here or are you doing it over at the Australian site

On the Australian site.

Hey CBR, Should she try to deregister the Kindle and then re-register it?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 29, 2013 5:03:27 PM PST
CBRetriever says:
that's good and do you see your kindle when you then click on Manage Your Devices?

I find that if I start typing my address, then the address fills itself in. Also, you need to click on the 1-Click payment settings and enter your billing address

if so, either a sync (menu option or icon) or a reboot with wireless on well lit your kindle know where to do from. Actually,I seldom shop from my kindle as I prefer to do it on as PC.

Yes, I see a picture of my kindle with serial number and name. I am still waiting for kindle to be fully charged to try the reboot.

Just rebooted - tried to buy a book but same message still comes up:( Thanks for your suggestions. I will take it back to the shop I purchased it from and see if they can help me.

B. Gonzalez says:
Just for the heck of it, try to deregister it and then re-register. You have nothing to lose.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 29, 2013 5:31:58 PM PST
I will try this if I have no luck when I take it back to the shop. Thanks

B. Gonzalez says:
You can do it from the Kindle. Menu - Settings - Deregister. Then do the same and register.
