Do the new kindles (touch, fire, etc) allow you to invert the screen colors? Such as white text on a black background.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
The Fire yes because it is a LCD screen. The others no because they are e-ink screens.

Open a book, tap the Aa icon, select the Black background.

and beware of books that have books formatted to have black text - their text will then be black on a black background and thus be unreadable

Huh?
You want all the colors the opposite of what they are? Every red to show up as green? Every blue to show as yellow?

Even knowing what it means, I have no clue but maybe "T his is just CRAP" can tell you.

Advise caution. I think Crap is very young.

From my experience walking the dog, very young crap is wildly more malodorous than the seasoned stuff.

For those of us who are light sensitive, it is easier on our eyes to have a black screen with white lettering. Obviously it doesn't work out well for pictures but for text based things, I often invert colors on my Mac and on the iPad where it is possible to do it with anything, doesn't have to be a Kindle book. That said, I don't seem to have a problem with the Paperwhite screen at night, but always have a dim light on in the room.

Someone above (not you, obviously) really should get their parents permission before signing up to post online. Some parents need to learn about parental controls.

You need to get off the internet and go talk to a grown up.

I think I see what you did. When you created your review, you inadvertently made a user name that really was just for that review. You can change it if you'd like by clicking "[your name]'s Amazon" and selecting "Your Profile." If you don't like being "T his is just CRAP!!!!," you can easily change it. :-)

What is a "T his?" Is there a "T hers?"

I can understand why some people might want white on black. Unless I'm mistaken, it is helpful for dyslexic people. The text is easier for them to read.
