Is Amazon doing away with their Ipad app? Can no longer buy certain books to read on it?

I tried to purchase "Now Eat This; Italian" by Rocco Dispirito on and it would not let me purchase it. It said I do not have a device that is registered to read it? I have a regular Kindle (Kindle 3G), an Ipad 3 and I.E. Desktop version. The book says it can only be read on Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Cloud Reader, Kindle Android. That is so aggravating. I tried the Kindle Cloud Reader (It uses your web browser to read books instead of app or device) and it sucks. It is sooooo slow! I was using a pretty fast DSL connection. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of books for my Kindle 3G and cookbooks for my ipad app. If I can't read them on my Kindle App it makes my books obsolete! I absolutely refuse to purchase the book, I will wait for library version. UGH

This has nothing to do with Amazon doing away with the iPad app, and your books are not obsolete.

Some book publishers choose to format their books for use on certain devices, for various reasons. Some books are only available on Android devices, some are only available on iPads, etc. You might want to contact the publisher of this particular book to request availability on more platforms.

It's about time Amazon started offering extra features for the Fires. I would expect other editions would be coming out for this book.

Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason for the devices you can read a particular book on. I wouldn't worry yet.
