usually i download a library book and it appears on my kindle next time in connect to the internet.
the last three books in supposedly checked out and downloaded are not on my kindle once i've connected to internet.
The library website says they've been claimed.
But they're not there! :(
I want to say it said something after i clicked on 'get for my kindle', about reading them immediately in my cloud... does it have anything to do with that?

Did you send them to the correct device? You can try going to the Manage Your Kindle page ( and resending them to your Kindle. Also, some library books cannot be downloaded wirelessly. If you have checked out one of those, you will have to download the file to your computer and transfer it to your Kindle via USB. You can find instructions for that at

If you have wifi you don't need to side load. Check your archives.

No, Fud53, you are INCORRECT! Kindle library books, unless they say on the library's page "USB only," will be sent wirelessly to Kindles with Wi-Fi (they won't be sent by 3G).

Once you checked the book out, The-Quilt-Lady, the page on Amazon's site should have the drop-down list of the device you want to send the book to. Just choose your Kindle and make sure the wi-fi is on. If the book doesn't appear, you can go to your Manage Your Kindle page, click on the "Action" button for the book, and choose "Deliver to" and make sure you select your Kindle from the drop-down list.

for some reason the drop down list was changed and instead of going directly to my kindle, it went into the cloud reader. It seems that now the only way i can read the book is online, on my computer. I want to transfer it to my kindle at this point but don't see anyway to do that. And when I go to manage my kindle, it's not there.
very frustrating. not in the 'manage your kindle' section, not in my archives, only in my 'kindle for pc', which i wasn't even aware i had till today!
