So I've been reading a new book on my Kindle Fire (original) and my Kindle Fire HD, merrily highlighting and making notes, assuming they were being synced between devices. But today I noticed they aren't. Totally distinct lists of highlights and notes.
I had assumed that one advantage of the Kindle e-book was the ability to read on any device and have all one's annotations. Apparently not.
Whispersync is enabled. I've turned both devices on and done manual syncs.
I'm always taken to the most recent page but that is trivial. I know where I stopped.
Having two lists of annotations is another matter. Maybe I should just have gotten a real book. No battery issues and my notes are always there.
This reminds me why I don't buy books that really matter to me as e-books: I don't want the content subject to the vagaries of a vendor or its technology.
Sign me very irritated.
