I went to Amazon and into the manage your kindle page. I deleted books I didn't like and then went to my tablet and tried to synch. My tablet kept giving me error messages. It is reset now but how do I delete books from the app on my tablet?
Thanks In Advance

Thanks Lucy but my question is about my kindle app on my Samsung. I have been able to get answers/help in these discussions before.

When you are in the kindle app go to the "on device" library (not home). Put your finger on the book cover of the book you want to delete. Hold it down a few seconds, a menu bar shows on the top of the screen. Choose the trash can and the book is removed from your device. That is how I delete books from my Samsung galaxy tab 2 using the 4.5.1.6 version of the kindle app.

If you are in the carousel, put your finger on the book cover, hold it down a few seconds, choose "remove from device" to delete from the tablet.

Deleting books from your account (basically throwing them away) isn't how you delete them from your device. Long press on the book and then select Remove from Device.

1) To delete books from the Kindle app on a Samsung Tab follow ShariB' directions. Pineapple is correct about deleting books form your account on the Amazon web site but "Long press on the book and then select Remove from Device" only works on books still on your Kindle app carousel.

Can't you scroll over and see the books on your Carousel? Doesn't the tablet version allow you to display books on your device? Just wondering since I only use the Android app on my phone. The tablet version must work significantly differently.

Thank you. ShariB's suggestion worked. I appreciate the advice.

Pineapple - On my Tab 2 7.0 Kindle app (4.5.1.6) the carousel only holds 20 books while there are over 50 books in "On Device". The books on the carousel rotate off the right end of the line as more are added to the left end. You are correct that " Long press on the book and then select Remove from Device" does remove the books which are on the carousel which in most cases would be the books you would want to remove.

Thanks. I did read the Help pages for the tablet version of Android and it is different than the phone version. *le sigh* Just makes it that much harder to answer questions.

Thank you this is a perfect response for any tablet that runs on Android!

A. Dietz says:
You can't read Kindle books on your Nook app and you can't read Nook books on your Kindle app, they are incompatible formats. What you want to do isn't possible.

I go to the kindle app and it just brings me to my library. I have looked in numerous places and have not seen "on device". I have the Samsung galaxy android version 4.0.4. (Samsung galaxy tablet 7?)

I was able to "Remove from device," but the book still shows up in my "all items" list. I don't even want it there, because it's more trash to scroll through. Do you know how to get that to disappear? Thanks.

 Ann says:
@Mary - Tap the menu icon (3 lines) in the top-left corner. Now tap "On Device" from the menu.

 Ann says:
"All Items" is the list of books stored in your Amazon account. Go to "On Device" to view only the books that are stored on your device.

If you want to permanently delete a book from your account, you do that from your "Manage Your Content and Devices" page online. There's a link on the "Your Account" menu at the top of any Amazon site page.

To get to page 1 from the last page on a Samsung Galaxy tablet, make sure you are on a page of the book. Tap top of page to get menu bar that shows font sizes. Look at left side of corner of bar (exactly left of mini picture of book cover), you will see 3 small horizontal lines. Tap the 3 lines. That will open a menu with different options. Click the Go to option. Click on 1 and then select page.
